Hey, I had heard a few things about there being lots of furs on the Runescape game, and i cant seem to meet any of them on the game, so i figured that I would just post here and tell everyone to post their handle so if anyone wanted to get ahold of them and hang out in the game, then we could.

and if anyone hasnt gotten signed up but is interested, its real easy to do. Once you get started, and need help, contact me. I do intermediate work helping newbies to the game get started. All you will need is the willingness to run around carrying stuff for me and the willingness to pick up anything you see lying on the ground.

Usually, what I do is i give you the assignment of carrying and mining ore for me. Mine a full batch of ore, and ill give you whatever I make from the batch of metal bars(or plain unrefined ore) you give me. You will have to start out with Bronze ore, but as you move up in mining skills, you will be able to mine better materials. I do a lot of smithing and working on my smithing skills, so If you keep bringing me materials, ill keep smithing for you.

The other thing I do, besides getting you started on equipment is showing you where many of the respawn points in the game are. Under the rules of the game, you are supposed to report any of these points you find as many of them are errors in the system, but as most of them are spawning weal begginner equipment, it is never really a big deal to just leave them as is.

If you want to know how to find them, its easy. Look on your map in the top right corner of the browser window. If you see a red dot on that map, it is item(s) that is lying on the ground. Sometimes its leftover from a fight, sometimes its just someone's junk that they dont want but might be some nice treasure for you, and sometimes its a respawn point. Go pick up the item(s) and wait. If after about a minute passes and nothing has reappeared, its just a pile of stuff, but if something reappears in front of you, it is most likely a respawn point(unless its bones or a pile of stuff that reappeared, then its just an error that you probably wont see in that one place again). Sometimes after a person dies, the stuff they had wont appear till a few minutes later. then it appears to whoever is walking by that the stuff just appeared out of thin air.

I can show you more, and show you how to recognize each and every symbol that you will see on your map, but you will have to find me on the game to learn. Currently, Im at level 30 mining and about level 27 smithing. I am looking for another coal mining location besides the barbarian village so if any newbies want to make some free bucks and happen upon something, find me for the reward(probably 500 or maybe more if im feeling good and you show me a really well stocked area). Make sure the one you find isnt the barbarian village one and also make sure the location isnt a members only section. You will only get the reward if you show me a location that I can access under a completely normal account(average level account with no extra membership crap), is not located in any of the guild buildings, and has a fair amount of coal to harvest.

oh, and you might not be able to run the game on netscape. You might need to open up explorer or firefox to run the game. I had some problems with it freezing up on netscape and ive heard similar things from a few others, so if you have problems getting it to load, try another browser before giving up.

Also, you will want to definitely load the lesser version of the game. The higher power(better graphics) one may not seem like much to many of you, but you will be running around a world where the game is constantly trying to keep track of around 800-1500+ other people. Dont choose the other one unless your computer is a truly powerful machine and you are quite confident in its capability. I can almost garuntee that it will still come close to freezing up even when you do have an awesome computer and you are running either edition of the game.

Its a very busy game, so make sure to take care and for you newbies, if you see something more powerful than a level 2 or 3 monster or guard, dont attack it, and dont click on it. If its running or walking quickly towards you, get away from it. Every time you die, you run the risk of losing something from your equipment that is really hard to replace. I almost lost my full body steel plate recently when a highwayman caught me unarmed.

Before i finish this off, i figure i should make sure you newbies PAY ATTENTION to what is said on the tutorial island. Every bit of it is important to getting better and making it over that early hump. Spend extra time on tutorial island until you are confident of your abilities(everything that you can keep training at should be at about level 3). Some of the things they show you, you wont be able to keep training at(like the magic casting thing). but many others will give you the chance to keep working.

When you finish with tutorial island, dont put anything in the bank there at the end of the level. Your bank account clears when you leave the island. I dont know for sure about any of the stuff in your immediate inventory, but I know the bank account clears when you leave the island. Make sure to train and harvest as much as possible while you are still on the island, and you should be just fine.

Probably one of the two banks, the furnace, or the mining circle in the area of farador(think i spelled that city right). As I mentioned, i do a lot of mining, so thats probably where you saw me. Either that, or wandering through the forest(I do that a lot too when searching for rune temples or training my levels)

Scam report:
Trimming armor in the game cannot be done. Period end. Its like forging black armor. You cannot forge black armor or trim armor. Trimmed armor, like black armor, is a rare item. You cannot make it, you can only buy it.

Note:
I beleive armor enchantment cannot be done, but I dont know for sure. Im going to email Jagex staff and ask about that and if they can give me a full list of all known scams so I can post them up here for everyone here to read. In the mean time, if anyone offers to enchant armor for you, ask them to enchant something simple as a test. Go get some leather gloves or something so if they run off with them, you havent lost anything valuable. If they do enchant the test peice, then by all means go with it, but dont give them the money till you get the armor back.

If they can enchant them, then please post a report here so we can know its not a scam. it might help people in their work in avoiding scams.

Ok, i dont know if anyone on here has been having trouble with Hackers or having trouble with getting anywhere in the game, but i figured i would let ya all in on a secret. Its the way of getting someplace in this game. THis is a stepbystep account of recomdational things to get into from the time you begin, to wherever you may be. First off, DONT GET A MEMBERS ACCOUNT IF YOU ARE JUST STARTING OFF!!! ive seen a few people on there doing this and its just plain stupid. You end up wasting money just leveling up your character doing stuff that anyone, member or not, could do. WOrk on everything you can before thinking about getting a member account. Before reading any further, make sure you have already read my first post on tips for players. Now, as for the secret of getting far in this game and allowing yourself a good strong income.

The first thing I reccommend geting into would be mining and smithing. If you dont already have a pickaxe, or somehow managed to lose yours, Go find the eastern bank in Falador and go inside the building just south of it. If you look on your map, you will see a red dot indicating a respawn point for a bronze pickaxe. Now, go mine some ore in the mining circle south of falador. Keep mining and smithing until you get up to being able to mine and smith steel. This is where things get hairy. Steel is a problem as you have to have coal to be able to get farther with steel. Coal is difficult to mine as everyone else in the game wants every ounce of coal in existence.

- a quick guide to crafting and making it to the guild
You have two options at this point. Get on and mine in the middle of the night while the crowds are almost non-existent, or start crafting. First off, you should go to Al Karid and work on your leather working skills until you can do silver. Make silver emblems from any silver you can get ahold of and also work on leather until you can finally do hard leather. All the while, you will be working on these things, you also need to keep an eye on general shops and gem stores as you should pick up ANY sort of gems you find along the way Price is not important as you will get the money back plus some extra $ and some extra EXP for making gemmed jewelry when you finally get good enough to make Jewelry(this may take a while, but be patient). You will continue to gain until you can finally get access to the crafting guild. Once this happens, you should immediately begin working on gold and silver. If you cannot smith gold yet, then keep working on silver and make occasional trips to the mines to see if you can slip in and get some coal and use it to make steel(hammer the bars out for some more exp). Keep doing this until your smithing levels come up enough to allow you to smith gold. Once this is done, you are set. Just keep working the crafting guild until your mining levels get up to allow you into the mining guild. THen you can begin working the mines for smithing materials and get all the way up to full runite armor.

- The secret to making income
Many people would ask why someone would want to spend enough time getting your levels up in crafting to level 40 just to get into the guild. People would ask what is the purpose when working with smithing is just as good. Actually, its not. Smithing is difficult simply because there are sooo many other people out there trying to do the same thing. There are less than a quarter of that who are crafters. Not only that, once you get into crafting enough to make gold jewelry and can get a ready supply of gold from the guild, your income skyrockets. Infact, as soon as i got good enough to get into the guild and smith gold, my money level went up from less than 10K to 38K in less than 30 minutes. The reason for such a drastic income increase was mostly due to all the jems that I had stockpiled over time. WHen I made them all into jewelry, things immediately improved. SO in essence, the secret is going for the thing that is easier to access, as you can waste hours trying to mine a few rocks, but in that time you could do enough crafting to buy all the ore you could possibly want.

- Hackers and how to avoid getting screwed by them
This next bit is a compilation of a few tips on how to avoid problems hacking and losing everything you have worked to get.
The problem with hackers is that they prey on what is currently in your bank. They hack in, take everything, including the money, sell everything they can and take all the money from that. Then leave you with whatever they couldnt get any money out of, whatever that may be. The problem with this is that you can prepare for this easily just by investing your money not into combat equipment, but mostly into skill-based equipment like pickaxes, hatchets, hammers, crafting tools, etc... and then work on skills like fishing, woodcutting, mining, crafting(big income maker once you get high levels). If you have the right amount of exp and a hacker comes in and takes everything, you still have your exp. he cant take that away from you and once you get back on, change your password and go utilize a respawn point to get some tools back in your possession and then go make some money back. If you have the right amount of exp(especially enough to allow you into the crafting or mining guilds), you can make all of your money back in less than an hour. Dont invest any money in awesome new armor. Invest it into exp and then when you have finished working on everything, you wont need to spend money on new armor, you can just make it for free and sell the excess, making even more money.

- Extra account for storage
Also, sign up for another account and make it distinctly different enough that it wont be obvious that its used by you for storage purposes. Take this account and have the character stand in some sort of town. When you need to get access to his bank account, go find where he is and log out, then log back in as his character. Make sure that you are out of the way of major traffic(reccomended that you find a place completely out of sight, but thats not always possible), but make sure you are still close to a bank. Have your main character drop something on the ground you want the extra character to store. Make sure you make it in a very specific spot and then log out, and log back in quickly as your extra character. Wait about a minute or two and the item should appear. Pick it up, and deposit it into your account. This works in reverse if you want your extra char. to get stuff and give it to the main char. Keep in mind that this is illegal by Runescape rules, so if you choose to do it, dont cry to me if they somehow catch you. As for things you would want to store, talismans are a good thing to keep stored away until you have the time to bring them back out. Keep them away and work on your crafting and such until you have the time to bring them out and put something else away. Also keep excess money in your spare account. Any sum of money thats too big should go into the spare account. Such as if you had 12K and wanted to store some, store the 10K and keep the rest in the main account. If you want something to go by, just remember that whenever you get 10k or more, drop 10k into the extra account and keep doing so until you no longer have extra cash in the main account.

thinking of starting a small clan

ive already created one clan(called Crossfire) but i was considering what to do in terms of a clan for furries. Does anyone know if there is already a furry runescape clan? For those of you who dont know much about clans, they are an unnoficial group of players in game who basically work together for whatever reason or purpose.

Crossfire is basically a group of mages and preists(mostly its mages and preists) who go out and kill pkers offering protection to those who go into the wild not looking for a fight. You cannot be let in unless you are invited. Ill invite you if i feel that you are ready so PLEASE DONT ASK.

On the other paw, im still considering creating a group for the purpose of teamwork amongst furs on runescape. But as far as i can see it, there doesnt seem to be enough furs on runescape to create a guild with.

Beleive me, their graphics DO suck giant donkey nuts, but the biggest problem is they dont know how to create security features for their premium users. It would be the only reason i dont get a premium account. Whats the use of paying for something that will only end in some little smartass getting on your profile and taking everything you worked hard to get. It doesnt happen too often with non members, but members have a serious problem with people hacking their account passwords. Ive been told that members have asked them to create a lock on which computers can access their profiles, but Jagex has claimed that they cannot do that. I know for a fact that its possible to trace IP adresses and use em to keep unwanted people off a particular site. It works on Fchan, there is no reason it cant work on runescape.

BUT, it really doesnt matter as I just break the rules and use separate accounts for storage of important items. There is almost no way they can prove the accounts are for storage as I use the drop method of transfering items. Its untracable and the only flaw is that you must do it in an area off to the side of all activity.

Oh, and the game did make some progress, but its mostly in the options you have with in game actions. You have lots of new skills you didnt have before. Not to mention the graphics did get better by a little bit. WHen the game first came out, everything was in 2D graphics and it looked HORRIBLE. Now at least its in 3D, tho not much better. If you want better graphics, they do have a more powerful version of the graphics out, but its not much better and requires more computer power than it should.

Sorry dude, I gave up on RS a while ago. Got into Guild Wars. Its free after you buy a copy of the program. No monthly fee, just the initial cost of the game(about $30-50 depending on where you get it and if its used. Aside from that initial purchase, its an awesome game.

If you get the game, PM me on this site and tell me what your GW name is. I can help you get through some of the initial quests and help you after you get out of pre-searing. Just one tip ill make to you. In Pre-searing section of the game, make sure to finish as many quests as possible before you go onto the next section. Not only will you need the money when you transfer over, you will need the exp and the many skills you learn in Pre. Also, dont ever sell any materials for item construction. many of those things can be very useful when you go over, and most are worth more when you are out of Pre. Utilize any and all collectors you run into as they can provide you with some nice armor and weapons to start off with(better ones than the ones you begin with). Dont be afraid to be a packrat. Identify all unidentified items, and salvage anything that is (highly salvagable or salvage material). Selling the salvagable items as well as the highly salvagable items is rather pointless cus you can get more out of them if you keep what you salvage(at least until after pre).

One last tip ill give is a combination recomendation for proffessions. Be a warrior(main profession) unless you think you can handle a ranger. Rangers might sound cool to a furry as you get a pet, but they are hard to maintain. Rangers absolutely need a strong warrior by their side or they get their butts kicked in pretty quickly. This is why im so desperate to get ahold of some furs to team up with. Rangers are support characters, not tanks. You might want to get a Ranger secondary proffession later on in Pre, but, as for a main proffession, i wouldnt suggest it unless you truly feel confident.

Ah... last thoughts: Cjkrythos, if you got all the way to lvl 80 and beyond in RS, you shouldn've become a member, most likely... there's a "glass cieling" in terms of places to train and etc, and a smaller market in free servers. And I'm kinda bothered you didn't make a real push for a furry clan right away. It looked like you had something nice developing here, but ya let it slip away, lol.

In any case, I really need to find reasons to keep playing RS... here's hoping for player owned houses really soon. And here's hoping I get a comp that can run Second Life instead >_<

I think a furry runescape clan is a great idea. despite the fact that there are only a few people "HERE" shouldent hamper us. this isint all the furiers. if we make clear that we are an all furry clan I think we could pull it off. perhaps make another seperate furry forum for advertising it.

wow, I guess furries will make this game popular again ^.^

Yeah, im in the Guilds for Mining, crafting, and prayer. I beleive those are the only guilds out there for free play. I can mine Mythril, craft everything up to diamond jewelry(a few of the peices I cant do yet) andsmith halfway through mythril weapons(I think im as far as smithing scimitars). If you happen to be new, gimme a hollar and I can hook you up with some good begginer armor and some spare cash(bout 2k should be enough to get you started). I can also give you a run down tour of the essential knowledge of how to survive in game.

Just a few basic peices of info include:

Dont say your password no matter what. People like to claim a lot of reasons why you should randomly yell out your password. The most common one is that the game will censor the password automatically. This is a load of crap, it wont, just dont say it period end and you will be fine.

Dont give any items to anyone to be enchanted(although I think there is an NPC quest or two where you have to do that type of thing). You cant enchant, bless, or whatever any armor or weapons. jewelry can however be blessed and enchanted. Just make sure you trust the guy you are giving the stuff to. Jewelry is sometimes easy to replace, but other times, such as diamond Jewelry or better, its damn near impossible to replace.

Red dots on the map represent items that people have dropped or possibly a respawn point for random beggining equipment. Keep an eye on things and if you see a red dot, go check it out, pick up the item and wait, if after a few minutes nothing has appeared in its place, then it was just somethign someone dropped. This is always a good idea to do even if you dont need the item. Sometime later you might need it and then you can take advantage of it. Some popular respawn points I use include the leather boots in the basement of Lumbridge castle(basement is accessible through the trapdoor in the kitchen)a set of shears in a barn fairly close to the sheep pen near lumbridge(the one where you have to shear so many sheep and bring back the wool to the guy for a quest), and a bronze mining pick lies on a box inside a semicircle shaped building south of the falador bank(east side bank). Some guilds also have some respawn points that are easy to find. The crafting guild and the prayer temple both have a ready supply of crafting tools and robes for preists.

Dont go too far north as it enters the wild and the wild is bad for new players. other players like to go up there and wait for someone to enter, if they see you there, they will kill you. Wilderness is the place where PKing can occur and if you want to keep what little you have, then stay away from that area. You can discern the wild from normal ground by the skull and crossbones signs posted along the border between wild and normal lands. You will also get a little popup message warning you of the wild. If you do go up there, only carry one thing of value(at most) and the rest should be total junk. That one thing will be what you retain in your inventory should someone decide to kill you. Oh, and watch out for people who like to try and lead you up there. more experienced Players sometimes try and lead new players up into the wild so they can kill them easily and take their stuff.

Guild Wars level caps at level 20 and the strongest armor is nothing more than super shiny versions of the second strongest armor in the game. In other words, once you get to Droks forge and are level 20, youve done pretty much everything there is to do besides a few skill captures. Questing serves no purpose after that because you cant level up any further and money is basically useless as you cant buy any better armor.

In runescape, you can play on and on forever and ever. Besides, Hyperbole kicks all the bums of every game just mentioned. Its not fantasy, but its enough online gaming for my tastes and as far as I know, there isnt a level cap. Oh, and its beta play atm so its free. Im guessing its probably going to stay free, but I aint entirely sure.
