I bought two wiis the day they came out and camped a best buy all night to get them. I sold one to a friend and of course kept the other one. The games i immediately got were excite truck, zelda, red steel, CoD 3, and rayman. Zelda is awesome. By the way. I hate ps3 and ps3 freaking melts because sony was stupid enough to not put enough fans in to keep up with th nine core processor. Wii is awesome because its gameplay is good. no the graphics don't blow chunks even though its much slower than the ps3 and still 75 % slower than the 360. the audio is awesome and the wireless controlers at least have RUMBLE!!!!.

Best single play game = zelda. Best multiplay game = excite truck.

I still love how my computer kicks the ps3's ass in graphics. go dual 8800 gtx's

Most people have a better way of spending 600 bucks... like rent... or food maybe... or a car payment

I have wii now.

Not as impressed with the funky controller as I'd thought I'd be, my wrist got sore with it. I've taken to holding it left-handed because my right hand gets enough of a work-out from writing and using a PC all day.

*raises paw* Wii over here! Been a Nintendo fan forever, and it is worth every minute of it! Is this a decent thread to give out Wii numbers in? I'm assuming not....

Now that I'm getting a Job and a steady stream of money I might just
purchase a Wii, But not anytime soon..

I'll wait til' the Black Ones become available, pre Umbrella Chronicles
release. With a few extra batteries and a weekend with nothing to do, too.

The Wii is very easy to use. If my Dad can play bowling with it, anything's possible. The trick is to point towards the sensor bar, which is near the TV. It's supposed to be close to the TV so that you don't feel like you're aiming at the sensor bar, but the TV itself. There is a sensitivity option in the Wii's options menu to set how much light the remote senses coming from the sensor bar. You can see the IR lights coming from the sensor bar with any camera, even cell phone cameras.

Since the Wii's remote (or Wiimote for short) only works from 3-8 feet from the sensor bar, that's an issue with me. Since I have a serious visual impairment, I figured out a way for me to get closer to the TV.

Either you can move the sensor bar under the TV, so the distance between you and the sensor bar is enough so that it'll work, but the distance between your eyes and the TV is closer, or you can break the housing off of the sensor bar, and move the groups of IR LEDs closer together to make the remote think that it's farther away from the sensor bar, as it calculates the distance away it is from the bar by how far apart the pairs of lights are. If they are closer together, that means that it thinks that it's farther away from the bar.

Option #2 works best for me.

R:FOM is tough as balls - I haven't played it THAT much, but my buddy brought over his PS3 to play on my 40" 1080P Samsung LCD (a beaut) - very tough game. I'll stick with my Blu-Ray movies and RPGs :D

Over the Tax season Daelyhel bought the family a Wii. We're very very happy with it. While the PS3 has drop dead gorgeous graphics, it really seems like more trouble than it's worth. (Our HD TV is an older model and won't support the uber fuctions of the PS3 as well) My only Wiigripe is that it doesn't have enough games that we are interested in at this point. After we beat Zelda, it's been collecting dust under our TV stand. :(

We are thinking of getting a 360, but only to play Fable 2. LOL

If you could actually find a Wii, then that's the way to go. At the moment, the only thing really going for the PS3 is it's blu-ray capability. The game selection for lack of a better word, blows the big one. They are releasing several games here shortly. NBA Homecourt, Motorstorm, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion all just came out, so things are looking up for it.

The Wii pushed back the release of Super Smash Brothers, Super Mario Galaxy and two other titles, if memory serves...so that's going to hinder it for a little while. However The Godfather was just released and I beleive Mario Party is coming out for it next month, so that's something to look forward to.

The best system out right now would have to be the XBOX 360, simply because it's got a good price and the best game selection. But out of a PS3 or a Wii, at the moment I would say go with the Wii. Playstation 3 will eventually come out on top though, soon as they get their act together.

I have a Wii. My favorite games?

1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
2. Trauma Center: Second Opinion
3. Call of Duty
4. Wii Sports

I can't wait for Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

I've got both.. I was severely disssapointed with the playstation 3, as were most of my friends.. they rushed it in an attempt to overshadow the Wii, and they still only have a couple decent games for it.
The wii, I like, but the novelty wears off pretty quickly, though I loved Twilight Princess and I look foward to SSBB. I didn't like call of duty or red steel- aiming with the wiimote is just too hard, I feel like I've gone DOWN a step because of how much worse my aim is compared to my aim on a normal console. I'll still to my 360 and my computer for gaming for the most part, in fact I'm quite mad I wasted all that money on the ps3 now that they've lost all their exclusives anyway.

Playstation is going to be having some serious problems right now.

Reason not enough games came out was because so many publishers did not think the Wii would take off. Now they are all scrambling to make Wii games. Soon we will see an explosion of titles. I am looking forward to it.

No, but I have accidentally whacked one of my friends upside the head playing wii-tennis :D

And I agree. Long as I have my computer, I'm happy. Consoles are more for when friends come over for me, save for a few particularly good games.

I recently bought a wii.the firstgame I got for it was MOH Vangaurd. The graphics are compairable to my gamecube which is much better than my ps2. MOH is fucking awsome. great graphics and great sound fx. it's alittle short though an the last checkpoint in the last mission is absolutely imposible.

my next game will be Resident Evil 4. it was fuckin great on the gamecube and I can't wait to see what the aiming is like with the wii mote.

EA threw thier full support at the wii before it came out. that's somthing they have never done for any other netendo system. The game cube was a huge mistake. for 3 main reasons

1. it couldn't play DVDs (this was a big thing at the time)
2. The disks were smaller and couldn't hold as much data as the regular DVDs
3. because of reason number 2 . games were unable to take advantage of the gamecubes superior graphics processor( superior to the ps2 anyway) because the discs could not holtd al those high resolution rederings. If you wanted beter graphics then the game would eithre have to be shorter or come on two disks. The sound fx were still far superiour to the ps2 non all the common games though.

One thing I learned while growing up in Silicon Valley is to never buy new technology right off the bat. Beta testing can be done up the yin-yang, but there's no real subsitute for testing than the bulk consumer.

The price will drop, tweaks will be made, and you'll learn from other's feedbacks how well the product is.

Sure, I want a Wii and a PS3, but I'm busy enough as is with my job, friends, etc. I have a DS, PSP, PS2, XBOX 360. I need to upgrade my computer first.

I want a Wii to play Zelda, but nothing else right now. Buying a console for one game is foolish, I did it for the Gamecube with Star Fox and regretted it.

I want a PS3, but nothing is out that I want, so I'll wait and save my money.

i have a ps3, this is my 2 cents. personally i think the ps3 one of the leading contenders right now. I know it looks bad for Sony right now but who can blame them its their fault for making such an expensive sysyem. but in the long i think it will win because it has blu-ray and currently has some great looking games coming out this summer. i have had mine since launch and there were times when i havent played it for days but i recetly got the darkness and i know its not exclusive but if Sony can get more titles like that on the system then there doin good. but if they don it will mean the ps3 will go they way of the dreamcast! DEAD!

I have a Wii, and I bought Redsteel as my first game. I have yet to die in that game, and I mainly ust go with the sword. But now I also have Twilight Princess, Super Paper Mario, and a bunch of games from the Virtual Console (Contra all the way). Once Devil May Cry 3 and Resident Evil 5 come out, I'll move to other systems.

Apparantly the PS3 is costing more to make than what Sony is selling it for. All my friends are saying stuff like "Ohhh this is amazing... they really care about the gamers"

Aye,, like fuck they do!!! I mean what are they thinking. "oh lets sell the console and loose money on it. Oh and then a few years down the line we will be bankrupt and unable to sell anyone a PS3!!!"

I think sony really dropped the ball on this one.

Sony as made mistake after mistake on thier systems. It is a wonder too me that Sony stayed in this long after microsoft joined the bandwagon. Sony made a big mistake releasing the PS2 so early. The XBox was a way better system. They took thier time developing thier PS3 so that they could see the flaws in microsoft and nintendo's systems. At the beguining of last year when they found out about nintendo's remarkable controller they completely scrapped thier own and came out with a half assed "Sixaxis" controller. Nowhere near as versital as the Wiimote. When relesed it could not keep up with microsofts production. all durring the christmas shopping season you could walk in and purchase an Xbox 360. they was always some in stock.

The nintendo wii was a feat I didn't think nintendo was capable of pulling off. They certainly did thier homework. They created a system that is enjoyable for all ages. EA was the only company that was wise enough to throw full support at it.I don't think anybody forsaw such a demand. It sent game manufacturers scrambling to produce games for nintendo's new controller.(some of them failed miserabally.)

Here is my sentiments about sony.

You have to remember its the developers that make the system what it REALLY is to the market.

Right now, even with the PS3 having a huge price tag, it's got a whole lot more interesting games coming out due to Sony holding a lot of first party developers.

If Nintendo or Microsoft can't get decent games, it won't matter.

Microsoft also can't ride the Halo bandwagon forever, either.

I got myself a wii. The first console I own since the Atari 2600-days.
Why? Because the games are acually FUN and something you can
play with guests instead of watching movies or going to a jazz-night together.
If I wanted perfect graphics and everything I'd use a PC.

It's slowly becoming less popular a series.

As for me - we went straight from Dreamcast (me) and N64 (my brother), to Wii (me), and XBox 360 (my brother)

I will have no problem spending $600 on a PS3 with an 80 gig hard drive, I don't know what people are complaining about the price for it is stronger than many computers, and there is no shortage of great games for it. The only reason I haven't bought mine yet is cause I'm waiting for the 80 gig model, and for them to finish making the six axis controllers with the rumble packs. The Wii shouldn't even qualify as a new console it's just the Game Cube 1.5, it is the exact same system with a different controller, the thing is just a novelty item.

i got a PS3 ;)
and after trying WII out at a friends house, i now know that i simply got to get one :P
it might not be "next-gen" (in terms of graphical performance) but I don't care that much about graphic, i still play MGS1 and Silent Hill on PSX (PS1)
and as long as the games are entertaining, i'll go for it ;)

I got a PS3. Why? Because I have a PC; a Hugebox 360 would have been redundant. Though, right now the only games I have are Little Big Planet, Far Cry 2 and Resistance 2. Add LotsOfNothing if you want. I've got an interesting project I want people to participate in on LBP. :E
