I noticed on my profile that I am not a member to any group:
rexlaninetales is not a member of any public groups
How do I join a public group?

I wonder what public groups are used for. I believe we had a similar function at my furry forum. One group was for underaged or sensative viewers (ice) they were only permitted to look at threads and artwork that is PG13, the rated R/X threads didn't appear to those in the ice group.
Only by confirmation of wanting to see the rated R / X material, would they be upgraded to Fire status. Then all of the threads and art would be visable only to fire members. Of course their age is verified on a profile of some sort.
That way, some kid wonders into the forum, all they see are the underage friendly material. He or she wouldn't get access to the R/X rated material.

yes we can do that as well, there is a fair amount we can do with them. um, the "newbi" and "active usurers" are both groups, just not ones that can publicly be joined or anything. its a way of setting up permissions.
as to whether or not we will ever have any public groups, that i don't know.
