Where is that thread now, the one for suggestions and comments about the performance of the moderators and administrators? I can't find it and I need to post in it.

I think it got deleted in the transition. If you feel the need to post something, just do so here, or I can re-sticky a new one in the general area.

If you insist.
It seems like there have been more blowouts since the people that were the original runners of Furry-Furry are no longer the ones that do everything. People arguing, and things get so far gone that people leave and don't come back. Or 'oldbies' leaving because it's no longer the Furry-Furry they knew and loved. I think this may be from someone or someones getting ahead of oneself or themselves, getting too full of oneself or themselves, or favoritism, or more.
It seems like mods or admins or both are not doing their jobs effectively anymore. It's properly done by impartiality, and I no longer see the neutrality. It seems like there is a heavy number of minors (or at the most, very immature) wafting about, so there's a problem with the way we sign up; perchance requiring some sort of verification of identity for new members is the only way I can think of to solve this.
I don't like how Furry-Furry is now in general and I'm not sure what I can do about it.
COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TOPIC EDITED IN, OMG
Also, my rep power is zero, and I know I referred someone. I just do not remember who I referred.

Well, To be truthfull of course..
I obviously see some immature and most-likely minors around the board, and causing quite a bit of blowouts. I don't know about favoritism.. but Pockets and Mestopho are pretty much my best friends, and i'd defend them of course, but after my recent flame on Lith.. (which i feel kinda dumb about) I don't see a point.
As for the way F2F Is now, to be honest i kinda like it, except with the fact the every odd minor sneaks its way in, or the person with the least maturity, or some sort. If there was a way to verify age, i'd be all arms for it, to improve how F2F is of course.
I wasn't around to see the Old F2F.. But i know a couple of people that were around, and some of them liked it, loved it even, and some of them hated the Lulzy people on it. So either way, i don't care about the past of the site. At all. Only bettering the site we have now.
And thats my cents.

Part of the problem I think is, a lot of us mods/admin seem to be on around the same time, so we're going to bed around the same time, leaving a good chunk of a day spent for people to post in wrong places and make stupid threads and all that junk. But that can't be helped, we gotta sleep, we gotta go to work, we gotta go out and have a social life. I do this to help out where I can, so it's not a job to me.
For the most part, I think the mods are doing a great job, if you could actually see the list of all the things they do each day, your opinion might change a bit as far as how active we are. Though I don't go out searching for things out of place, if I run across one, I do what needs to be done and that's it. I still come to this forum, first to enjoy myself, and then second to be a mod.
As far as minors go, yes it's a problem, but there isn't a lot we could do about that. The only real solution would be age verification, but those typically require a credit card and people might not feel comfortable with that, or they might not even have a credit card. The only thing we can do is wait for them to admit to being underaged, or wait for some one to tell us that so and so is underaged. It sucks, but again...not much we can do. As much as I would love to see certain people here banned...it just wouldn't be fair to them, as it's just because I don't like them and not because they did something wrong...so ya...not a good enough reason.
And the arguments...well...lol honestly that hasn't changed much. The forum was full of arguments a year ago, and it's full of them now. Though despite a few heated moments, the arguing has actually seemed to be a bit less than what it used to be. I could be wrong though and I'm missing things you're seeing.

It's just a little nitpick, but it irritates me a little when the mods 'get the last word in' before locking a thread. I mean, if the thread is going to be locked, doesn't that mean that for one reason or another the thread, and the posts in it, shouldn't be happening? And if so, wouldn't that mean that you, as a mod, shouldn't continue the topic of the thread yourself if you know it's not supposed to be there?
I mean, explaining why it should be locked makes sense, but continuing the conversation or posting your view on the topic and then locking the thread just doesn't seem right. Especially if people are just being referred to post in an existing thread, shouldn't you post about the topic there yourself?
Just thought I'd point it out, don't mistake me for a whiner, I love the forum and the admins (usually).
I can only cite two examples offhand (The locked threads on '2') but I remember more.. http://www.furry-furry.com/furry/showthread.php?p=1559854#post1559854

As far as the 'new' versus 'old' F2F... Meh, I can't say I liked either one better or worse. We have a lot more little kiddies running around whom only aren't banned cuz we TECHNICALLY can't prove they're kiddies, but we've got a lot of cool people here too that weren't here before.

You're right in a way... I don't see any problem really with what Pockets did there; maybe the first one, but not the second one.
I try really hard not to get the last word on things, especially is there's a war going on and I'm involved somehow. That's why I usually send a PM after something is locked to carry it on if there's a need to. Or shake paws.
Sometimes it's hard, but sometimes there are ways around it, which I know personally, I try and find.

I can understand about some of ya'll feel that we are not always there. But erm, as Pockets and all said, we are normally around at the sametime. Wonderfully and Sadly I have a Family and Kids. I also have a very important Job. So during the day I am not around and well... free rain a bit. *sighs* Hopefully we can change that once I get my new job. Then I can pop in and out through the day. Just send me PMs if there is a problem thread, or a thread you want my to look into. I pop in already atleast 4 times a day at work, just in case.

Unfortunately with the huge influx of new furs, the boards went crazy for a while. It's also a problem when most of us mods/admins have real life issues to deal with and cannot be on at certain times. Personally, I try and be on during the day and Daelyhel at night.
If you have issues with certain threads or need to get something taken care of just PM one of us Moderators. PM me if anything happens after 12am but before 6pm and I'll take care of it. PM Daelyhel after 6pm but before 12am. This way Dae and I share the responsibilities and help get stuff taken care of faster.
P.S, gonna sticky this thread and move it to What can we do to make this BBS better? (http://furry-furry.com/furry/forumdisplay.php?f=191) so it's more easily visible.
Keep posting your opinions on the Mods/Admins of F2F here.

I not sure if this is the right place to post this and if it isn't then I say I'm sorry now.
I wouldn't mind helping out a little bit for the website like looking around the sites and find out about problems with threads. If I find one, I could always pm to someone in charge and tell them so they can deal with it when they get on. That may lessen the work load for them a little. I don't want the full responsiblity but I would like to help when I can. To be honest, I get on at different times of the day depending on my things to do so that may help.
Sorry didn't see the post before this one, silly mistake.

Well at least all of you are trying.
But speaking from experience and a couple of years being a mod for another website (And thank god never again). I've noticed it always is like this, That minors often slip through carefully screening no matter what one does to try and actively present it.
its almost impossible to moderate Your website 24/7 unless some mods are on different time zones. Website do change, And its not to blame any of you. But its the contents and the people withing.
The only real way is to find active members willing to help moderate, Or sub moderate at levels at far surpasses. I Do make note that it takes a lot of sub mods and mods, As well as a chain of command like democracy.
That and be as it may, Some members do help and try... But theres just so much. Nothing ever really stays the same.
So Don't beat yourselves up for trying.
That being said, Living the life of a moderator is a lot of hard work. But there is one way. Even though some furs might not like it. There are thousands and millions existing floating on the web. What i did to verify age, was to limit there posting. And when someone is suspected being under age ask for a scan of there ID as well as a picture of the person holding the ID. Its really the only safe Way to do things. That way it limits a lot of things. There is no reason For a person who would willingly and wanting to be part of that website to not make that tiny compromise.
Other than that i don't see problems with the website itself, maybe a little HTML coding could be used here or there. But otherwise its not a big deal.
Problem is doing things neutrally and being firm about it. Sometimes you have to just put the boot to the ass.
Its often difficult to remain neutral on any subject brought up. But keep an open mind and hearing both sides of the story, back tracking (Which most mods do anyways). But issues have to be dealt with one at a time.

Not going to make people show ID to join a forum -- if their word is a lying word than so be it. Not gonna be someone I'm gonna like as a person and they'll burn in hell :)

Has the idea of having, like, Mini-Mods never occurred to anyone yet? If there aren't enough admins/mods to go around, and if they're not online all the time to catch the little things that go on in their absence... Why not have a small group of people that can do that for them? They don't have to have lots of power, maybe just the power to lock a thread? Maybe they just go around and mark down problem threads or members and then give that list to a mod when they come online?
It makes sense. It's something I've seen a few big forums like this employ. Actually, usually on big forums like this they have a few more mods on hand. There only seems to be at dozen at most, that I've seen anyway. I could be wrong, I am fairly new here. But still...

It could be done but that would take a bit of time.
I would program it, but honestly I don't see the point because those that are mated tend to post it in their sig....
All in all, It could be done but most likely wont be done due to the fact we are not the only people using this type of board, so the programmers are not going to bend this way or that for a minority.

I am not sure if these suggestions have been made yet, and I am too tired to try and figure it out.
I think that there should be a color selection scheme. I have some issues reading this black screen sometimes. It tends to mess with my eyes.
There should also be a feature to select what state you live in (from a preselected drop down list) so that you can find others who live in the same state as you.
I would like to see more video game accessability in your profiles, such as listing your Xbox Live GamerTag, PS3 ID and Wii Number.
Maybe we could also get a live chat room going too.
Lastly, it would be nice to add a way to link to other furry sites in your profile. Such as FurBid, FurAffinity, MyFursonna, Furry Art Pile, and any other furry related site out there.

There are some things that can be done, and some that can't. You also have to realize that we can only do so much with a volunteer board.

I just wanna know why we can't do this? I like this idea, and we already are able to completely costumize color in our profile pages. Now, i'm not computer savvy in the least bit, so keep it in simple terms -.-' .
Oh, I guess you might not be able to do it due to lack of HTML encoding in the forums, but why can't you allow HTML, I don't see the problem with it, beside that I moght not be allowed to use an emoticon like this any more >.< . The default one. The one with yellow letters for the sub-titles, with blue backgrounds. And yellow Backgrounds with blue letters got the Main titles. But the actual text boxes are all grey (Some black) with white letters. Links are all yellow too.

I like the color default color scheme. It works.
Makeing to many such unessary changes can make things unstable.
Still for those that want it, that option could be nice. However I could see an exra 2 or more pages
of code added to make the change. More work then one might think for perhaps so little.
I say if it is not broke don't fix it.
As for any changes perhaps in gaming or art galery an option for flash medea.
I know the games are flash. It would be good to add an option for adding such.
Seeing more furrs are geting into making that. I know there is a grate chance for them
eating up memory space.
Perhaps a link to another sight that allredy spechalises in showing user flash art. deveant art is one.
Only an idea. No need to lose sleep over it. ;)

Well, that sort of happens anyway. Some newbies make their 15 posts and then sit and wait for the Newbie Status to end and Active Membership to begin, and then they disappear into the gallery or yiffy RP section and are never heard from again. So even with the wait to become an active member and gain those privileges, some people will wait solely to get access to those two things. Some members act purely on hormonal impulses.
Note to the newbies: Even if you are only here for the yiff, do yourself a favor and explore F2F anyway. I can almost guarantee you'll find SOMETHING that you can enjoy besides the yiff.

Hmmm feedback huh. Being a senior member and having been around for for a few years, I would greatly like to see more interaction going on between the mods/admins and members of the forum. I think some of the reason why members feel they can not come to someone higher up is that they don't know you on a level some others do.
Perhaps stepping out of the 'help' section and the personal 'ask mod so and so questions' would help the members feel a little bit more comfortable knowing that there IS someone around to help them if need be. I know KC is known well for doing this. She hangs out with us and we get many laughs. I would love to get to know the rest of the staff on a level like I do KC. Howler is also another I would like to complement on being there and hanging with us.
In the past couple of days, I have seen an improvement in staff involvement. This is great for a forum that is large and very active. I do however, think more mods are needed as well as the older staff beefing up their 'patrols'. I know some of you do have current personal issues, which is understandable. I have also seen some mods slip into dark corners and are rarely seen by anyone. Perhaps let your members know whats going on so we don't think your dead or have abandoned us.
So, with that said I hope to see a brighter future for F2F staff and members alike.

I am mean, growly and barky. No one wants to associate with me!
Naw, seriously.. We have that "Ask us anything" for people to get to know us. It's just not utilized at all by other members.. the same people post in it, over and over.. Which is fine, but newer people should post in there too.
I use to interact quite a bit on the forum and have stepped back a bit temporarily because of RL stuff, but my MSN and AIM is always on for those who want to message me :)

Mmm, I see a few newbies asking questions to the team now. Unfortunately, most of those questions are asked to the members that are either MIA, or no longer mods/admins (Fox Bluetail, for example, unless my informant/information is wrong).
I only have concerns about one member of the staff, but I won't disclose it publically. If you'd really like to know, PM me or IM me and I will explain. Other than that, the team is doing a great job of keeping the peace as of late.
Hope things get better for you in the future, Rrruff.

I guess you could say I'm sort of afraid of the mods so far. I know how important it is to keep a site like this organized and be on patrol, but it seems kind of scary for me to approach them. Mainly I came here to meet friends, have fun, offer advice to people when I can, try to make the sad more happy, and give out warm feelings.
I know the mods have busy lives and I am thankful for all that they do here, and don't mean to rub any fur the wrong way...........I guess maybe if I knew the fun-loving, goofy sides of you guys better, I'd feel a lot less shy. I think many newbies see only the disciplinary side, and not the big picture, and some might get to feeling more scolded than welcomed.
I am also not one to make quick judgements, or look down on people; I try my best to understand them and accept them, even if I might not like them. The world and it's people are as they are, and they are not going to change just to please me. I find it easier to accept this, and move on.
Oh........I also saw a thread about donating money, and would like to do this.......I am afraid of pay-pal, so would like to send it via Snail-Mail, and I think I saw a link for this........I really like what you have going on here, and want it to continue to be a success.

The reason I think alot of people are afraid to talk to the mods is because sometimes some of you can be a bit hitler like and only show up to rip the ass off some newbie. I'm not going to say what you just stated is a lie... because it's not, and frankly some of the newbies need to be traightend out. It's not that we jump in at every drop of a hat to rip into them. It's just we don't want new fur's to get the wrong idea that thay can do as thay please. In a since thay can... just in a well mannerd way that follows the rules. We don't care if thay goof off. Infact we want thim to have fun... just as long as thay don't break the rules. In my mind rules are made to be followed, but I know that thay can also be broken, and thats fine... to a point.

You'd need some sort of built-in Java facility for that to work. And it really only effects the games every now and again, so it's not of vast importance in my honest opinion.

There's not, but I can clear this up.
Blue means Junior Moderator.
-Access to certain sections of the forum. Can lock and move threads, hand out warnings and infractions, etc.
Gold means Global Moderator.
-Same powers as Junior Moderators, but they have access to the entire forum.
Orange means Senior Moderator.
-Global Moderators with the ability to ban, set avatar titles, and change names.
Red/Pink means Administrator.
-All Senior Moderator privileges and responsible for the internal changes and implementation of new forums, coding, scripts, programs, etc.

The problem with that is that the Ask Me threads are meant to encourage newcomers and members that we are not familiar with to help form a bond and get to know the staff, to get us closer to the community (and the community closer to us). Unfortunately, the same people that we all know are the only ones who ask us anything.

I can see where that's a problem!
But after a while they get a little more familiar with the site then they seem to migrate that direction

I think its because they are in a hurry to get to the yiff section.

XD that's like a bad sitcom with twins or something...
I'm not sure if it's brilliant or retarded as hell!
You guys should probably do it. It'd be amusing.
Who to switch though...? Dael and Lia? That'd be one that some people might not catch right away I bet. Idesin and Koze would be funny.

That'd probably be a pretty good one. I liek mine better tho' >.< and stop touchin' mah crayons!
I don't think this is entirely on the topic of mod and admin feedback, but I'm fairly certain I'm displeased with the changes to the RP section. This just seemed like the best place off the top of my head to mention it.

Is it possible to put rss feeds on individual groups, or at least give some notification that someone has posted in a group your in?
Daelyhel Axon
June 29th, 2009, 11:01 AM
The way RSS feeds work, that would cause a lot of issues. Currently only thing our RSS feed does now is to let members know when there is a new post. Brand new post. We are still learning, we will have to see what is possible as we learn.

I don't know if im just blind and can't read where I should post but here's my problem that i just recently haved. I don't know where to post discussions about furry things that dont have to be of yiffy nature. I wanted to post up like a 'rant' and get to hear other peoples rants on certain things. I dont know if this sounds confusing but Im just as confused as to where I should post my thread.
Idesin
August 15th, 2009, 08:29 PM
Can you see either the 'rant' section or the 'general talk' section?
Also, this would go in the 'help' section.

'Furry life venting' is what you seek. And as Idesin said, general talk.
That guy.

I have a suggestion... just a small one. With the New layout of Posts in the Social Groups, Last to First. This doesn't bother me, But The page selector is at the bottom of the page.
Could you also add one to the top of the page, like in the standard threads?
That way you don't have to scroll down/page down/Press End. To get to the page selector, to Skip to the last page (thus newest posts) of the Social Group's Discussion thread.
PS: I hope this is in the right section. >.>

September 15th, 2009, 11:19 AM
Well, it was used at that time because there were few mods. Now with more mods actively watching the board we don't need a community watch group as much as we did before.
