Have you ever noticed?

Have you ever noticed how this board runs backwords from every other board on the internet? Ive only been here 1 day and it is driving me insane already. I always wind up reading the last post first, then the first post on the last page, then the last post on the first page, then I finally stumble upon the actual first post, but by then the whole thread is almost ruined for me because I've read half the posts and know what the first post is about already.

i know what you mean.. at first it kinda confused the hell out of me.all the stories seemed backward. hahai never seen a forum with this set up, its rather annoying at first but i'm getting used to it.

I noticed that immediately too, and its very easy to fix. I just went into my User CP and under 'Options' I changed the "Thread Display Mode" from Linear - Newest First to Linear - Oldest First.

Yeah, the new VB version makes it default to that. You've gotta change it yourself.... so it's not this board it's *you*! ;)

Why would it default to something almost no one likes? Or does someone like reading the last post first and have no idea what the thread was about?

Most forum systems have extensive configuration options, so I'm sure there's something server side you could change to make Oldest First - Linear the default option. It might not be in the web interface though.

I have no access to the server so I wouldn't know. :-)

Also, if you highlight over the link... It tells you if you're gonna go to the last post or the first post. Just make sure you are highlighting the right thing.
