How do I select an avatar?

I drew up a rough first draft of my character, but i can't figure out how to set him as my avatar...

*sits, looking at your question* Yes, Kenamaro is correct; you can't display an avatar until you gain active member status fifteen days from joining. *shrugs* Bit of a security thing I believe. What you could do, however, is upload a profile picture. It won't display beside your posts, but anyfur who is an active member can see it on your profile. You can always leave it up after you get the ability to upload your avatar. *smiles* Just a suggestion.
