View Full Version : Having an odd problem sometimes when posting

About maybe 1/4th of the time when i'm trying to post somewhere, it will post with all of the text smushed together/no line breaks at all. I am forced to go back and put </br> or whatever it is at the end of every sentance, twice to get a space, which for a long posting is tedious and I often abandon it. It can even happen between a first posting and an edit of that same post. I post something and it posts fine, then upon editing it smashes it together. Or alternately it smashes it hte first time, and on editing all the sudden the line breaks are properly inserted without me typing anything. It's like its getting confused between text and html mode, even though i'm not doing anything which should cause it to be in one mode or the other to my knowledge, as it doesnt matter whether its a new post or a response somewhere.

That is very very odd. The BBS software ignores any and all HTML formatting, so that is not an issue.
What is your Browser and Operating System?

Hmm... *scratches head behind my ears* Have you always had this problem or is this something new? It might be a browser issue, though I've used Firefox 0 through 3 and IE 6 and 7 without any problems. Even IE mobile seems to work.
HTML is disabled to prevent others from messing with the page... embedding unwanted elements and such... if you look at the bottom of every thread, in the Posting Rules box, it should say that HTML is disabled. I wonder... if you could look at that the next time you notice the problem. I have no idea what it would mean if it is enabled, but it might be a clue.
*shrugs* It's worth a look anyway. I've got nothing else... never messed with any BBS from an administrative or support standpoint. Hope somefur can get this working for you. Seeya 'round the forum...

It's your browser. There's a setting in your browser that was changed when visiting another website -- You probably hit "OK" without knowing it and it changed your setting.
Depending on what browser it is, there are different ways of fixing it.
