So what do you think? I bought it and found it to a very fitting end to the series. Though I do feel it was shorter than the others, but the other than that I found it to be well worth the $90 I payed for it. But I want to know what every one else thinks...
Also...if this is in the wrong place, I apologize.

I just beat Laughing Octopus. It is one of the best boss battles I have ever fought. This game is brilliant so far. Far longer than any game that came before it too. I have spent about 12 hours on it, and I am still in act 2.

Yeah...I personally liked crying wolf the best, fighting her brings back so many happy(?) memories. Other than that...getting big boss rank was actually one the hardest and best times I had playing the game.

You spent 12 hours on it because 10 of those hours are cutscenes.

Not exactly. A hell of alot of it was tactical shooting and gathering weapons for drebin points for better weapons

Exactly what I was thinking. 90 minute cutscenes? C'mon.

Were you really expecting to play the finishing of the series and not encounter a "Kojima Mega Cutscene"? But alot of those cutscenes can be skipped if you know what there talking about like when theres a cutscene that tells you about the events of snake eater, you can skip that if you so chose.

That rumor was debunked you know. There are no 90 minute cut scenes in the game.

thats a bad idea actually. They just dont talk about the events of snake eater but talk about how they tie that into the modern setting. I dont want to spoil anything but there are some pretty important things in there regarding Major Zero and EVA that were never before revealed.

I played it, beat it, played it again and beat it. Now I'm pretty much playing metal gear online but thinking of beating it again on hard using only my knife and traps for most of the game!
I love this game D:
Oh yeah...it's time to unlock the special outfit!

I have to agree, Crying wolf was my favorite battle too :D
I'm currently playing through for Mantis rank, and I'm probably not gonna try for Big boss any time soon XD
And I don't see what the huge complaint about the cutscenes is. If you've played an MGS before, you know that he packs alot of story and cutscenes into these things, so it only makes sense that this one'd have them too. If you like/are used to the series it shouldn't really be that big of a complaint

I have reached act 5. I am 22 hours in. This is, easily, the longest MGS yet and damn it is good
*SPOILERS FOR ACT 4*
Rex vs Ray is the most epic battle in video game history.

Agreed and agreed a million times over. Isn't that difficult of a fight though, IMO.

No. It wasn't hard but holy damn was it awesome to be able to control Rex. Metal Gears should face off against each other more often. Maybe TX-55 vs D or D vs Raxa or something. Epic.
I was very surprised that the game mentioned Dr Madnar. I could have sworn he died in Zanzibar
I just beat the game
*SPOILERS FOR THE END*
Holy....fucking....shit. Big Boss :| Holy shit that was amazing My jaw literally dropped when I saw him. I was sitting there going "How the....but....what the....HOLY FUCK!" When he gave Snake a hug, it was like "Thank you and I finally accept you as my son." Wow....just....wow. That game was so emotional

Yeah, my top 5 moments in that game were as follows
as before *SPOILERS*
1. Scene when Liquid gets control of JD, and slaughters pretty much everyone
2. Raiden vs. Vamp, nuff said.
3. no-armed Raiden lightninging stuff. You know you're awesome if you're a no-armed swordsman and still beating stuff.
4. Liquid vs. Snake at the end. Again, nuff said.
5. Big Boss.
At pretty much every point on one of those scenes it was either "Holy Shit." or "What?!?!" or ".......*jaw-dropped speechlessness*"

I remember when every hated playing as Raiden in 2. But I loved it...It never bothered me playing as Raiden. It thought it was refreshing to see snake from a new point of view. The final battle In 2 was pretty awesome, fighting solidus in a duel was so much fun! But now that raidens even cooler, everyone wants to play as him...oh the irony in that...heheh.

Heh, I honestly never hated Raiden that much, and after seeing him in 4 that proved well and justified. :D

I thought Raiden was a huge improvement in mgs4 compared to mgs2.. though i find him utterly delisouse in both games, hes FAR more badass in Guns of the Patriots... As for the game over all, though i do agree it was a fitting end to the series, I found it TERRIBLY depressing to see how everyone looks down upon "old Snake" or to see him so, uhm feeble and what not (cept the end fight! my god epic!) but over all, i had alot of fun and im currently working on getting the assasins rank

i came in on the series on MGS2, though i knew about the game since the first game was released (not the original old-school :( )
and usualy you think the first game you try is the best,,, well, in my case, i think MGS4 was THE best :P
i loved it.. and even though i hate telling this when im new here; i'm really easily gatting emotional, but it's VERY rare i actually cry... i cried, in the end of the game, it was so tragic to be told "something" .... but later it turned out to be alright, nothing had happened ;)
but i love it!!
it's been a VERY long time since i've gotten emotional about a game :)
it is so great, the story-telling is great ;)
and even though most say that it's anoying with all thise in-game videos, well. i love them.. i don't feel cheated if 50% of a game is videos (depends on the length of the game of course), i play games like they were and interactive book/film!
which is why i still play video-games :P
i don't play games just to slaughter my friends in a game, that's just a bonus ;)
