"Digimon World: Transformation" Sign-Up Thread

The digital world was always a peaceful place. Digimon lived in peace and harmony, just as ignorant of the human world as the humans were of them. But in the real world, trouble was brewing, trouble which would forever change the face of the digital world.

Tensions had risen between the US, Iraq, and Iran. In the highest levels of government, Homeland Security developed DOS, a computer whose sole purpose was to analyze worst-case scenario situations.

Unfortunately, unbeknown to the humans, the data created from this program spawned a new digimon. As this digimon wreaked havoc on the digital world, many called it the ultimate evil, killing without discrimination, and for no apparent reason.

The four Sovereigns, each the protector of a different part of the digital world, appealed to AncientWisemon, who brought several humans to the digital world. Each one was given a digivice, partnered with their own digimon, and called "digidestined" from that point on.

After a long and trying adventure, the digidestined defeated DOS and its henchmen, and restored peace to the digital world. The humans returned to the human world, leaving their partners behind to protect the digital world.

But now, the peace of the digital world is once again threatened, and it's up to the digidestined to once again restore peace....

Alright, here's the deal. This is a digimon RP, as you can tell. Everyone will start out as HUMANS *looks around glaringly*. But we'll quickly be transported to the digital world, where we'll be transformed into the digimon we were partnered with three months ago. I can't tell you why, because that would be spoilers. I will tell you that, though we will be digimon for most of the RP, we won't be for the first couple posts, or towards the end. Why, you ask? Again, spoilers. Age: 16

Gender: Male

Appearance:
Rick isn't know for any particular fashion sense. Due to his hair, he grew up liking the color black. Because of this, his usual attire is made of faded, or new, black jeans, and a simple black t-shirt. Black shoes, glasses, and a worn out, black leather cap polish off his look.

He's at a staggering 5'10", with short black hair. He dislikes shaving, which usually leads to a scruffy looking beard, before he is forced to shave once again. His build is skinny, but not frail. Overall, although dressed darkly, he gives off a geeky, goofball-like feeling.

Bio:
Rick grew up with his dad. Since his dad worked long hours, passed school hours, he learned quickly how to cook, and clean. That way, he could just go home, instead of to a babysitter.

In school, he was always an average kid. He gave no interest to sports, preferring to read, watch TV, and play video games. In classes, he was mediocre in most, only excelling in math, and shop classes.

Appearance: Slightly overweight, glasses, a mop of unruely fuzzy hair on his head. At 6'2'' he hides his extra weight very well. Lanky, and white as a sweed, he's also hairy as an italian. However, his disarming smile and twinkiling eyes stop anybody from calling him 'gruff looking'. A Life scout (this close to eagle!) with many wilderness surviaval skills, he is filled mostly with usueless trivia and philisophic museings.
Bio: Raised by his strong willed mother, he was always on the look out for his brother, untill he realised that more people reconised him for his brother, instead of the other way around. A shut in who reads and goes to museams much more than 'normal' people do, his social skills are somewhat lacking, but a library full of books about great warriors has made him terminaly optimisic and willing to help everybody, even his enemies.

Attacks: Dandy hands (shoots flowers that burst like fireworks from the frills) Other attacks deal with hitthing things with the cane, and blocking things with the remarkably hard watch.

Champion: Gentelmon
Look: Adult hight (6'6'') humanoid, dreased in suit pants, a silver buttoned vest, a swallow tail coat, a pair of white gloves, a top hat, a pocket watch, an ebony cane with a silver wolf’s head (actulay a cane sword).
Attacks: Wolfs head blast (fire energy from the wolf head of the cane) Time stop (pocket watch forms into shiled on arm), Cane sword (twisting the cane head to unsheathe the sword from inside the cane).

Ultimate: Earlmon
Look: Adult sized humanoid. Dreased in quasi-19th century english general attire (vest coat with lost of war mettals) Still has the top hat, and the watch, but now the cane is only a sword, with a revolver built into hte wolves head (which has rotated so that hte blade comes out of it). Hair is now grey, wears military boots. Also wears large, precious stone rings on his finger (no gloves)
Attacks – Wolf shot (icy type beam from the revolver) Top hat desturctoin (hat brim shoots out like a saw whie the top part is heald like a canon and fires). Of couse useing the sword and shileld, and the rings may or may not be used for semi-magical/mystical purposes.

Mega: Were-earlmon
Look: Werewolf humanoid. Clothing is the same as above, except the pants are riped above the knee, the coat is all thats left from above the waist, the gloves have riped though, leaving only the cuffs that conected them with the shirt. With the watch/shiled on his back, the sword is now a full blown claymore (one handed type) and the revolver is almost a mini-cannon.
Attacks: Wolf Shot (gun fires off like the mettal garrurumon) Sword stroke, Wolf howl (burst of energy from his mouth) and the ultimate attack - King of Wolves (Combines the revolver, sword, shild, and top hat canon into one powerfull megga blast)

I just wanted to clear something up, that I may have mis-typed earlier. In my first post, I explained about the digidestined who saved the world from DOS. Those are the digidestined we'll be playing, not some total nooblets.

Just to clear that up.

Also, something else I should mention: digivolution. Whenever you digivolve to a new level for the first time, I'll tell you when that happens. Every time after that, you can digivolve to that level at will.

Bio: Now a high school graduate, KC spent her time working odd end jobs in the tech business such as data entry or stocking computers at a retail store. Her knowledge of computer barely enough to get her by, KC enjoyed utilizing the computers for researching and creating multi-media.

KC is shy and modest and introverted, but she does smile, just not in the worst situations

Bio: Shane started his schooling in Singapore when he was 6, then his parents moved him to the States when he was 12 to let him continue his studies there as his dad got a job in a new firm based in the States. It was his first year in school that he first got called to the Digiworld. Now, he's starting Grade 10 and he doesn't know that he will be called back again.

Bio: Alex spends most of his time tweaking on his car, there's not much else for him to do after graduating. On weekends he races at a local track, durring the week he fetches parts at a junk yard. Sometimes even now he'll lay on the hood of a junk car and daydream of the digital world.

:neutral: Well, your setup is restrictive. Which I find a bit annoying. I like being able to make my own origin and choose what my character(s) will be (human/Digimon), rather than being told.

<.< the summary of the previous events is also uncomfortably close to the truth IMO.

Being told when to Digivolve sort of sucks. Being called on it being too early/rapid and demanding it be changed is one thing, but having to wait until someone else says so rubs me the wrong way.

That all said, and I had to be honest and get it out there, this sounds like it's got a pretty good group of RPers and could be a lot of fun. I'd like to join if I may.

Name: Clive Liuqnart Redips.
Age: 22
Gender: Male (I decided to go with a male for laughs since there will apparently be transforming. Normally I pair this Digimon with a girl.)
Appearance: Height- 5'11''. Build- Slightly out of shape, but still skinny. Hair- Dyed white. Medium length, stopping near the base of the neck. Frames the sides of his face but leaves his field of vision open. Eyes- Brown. Clothing- Wears a black fedora with a white stripe that goes around the bottom of the middle of the hat. It's not uncommon for him to wear sunglasses as well. He wears a simple black t-shirt and an open white vest that looks a bit thick and like it is broken up into three horizontal sections (I hope that makes sense <.< not sure how else to describe it) as well as a pair of black jeans with a white flame design that, at it's highest points, comes close to the knee. He also sports pyramid studded leather wristbands with three rows of studs.
Bio: Clive is a recently published author, only having one book completed at current. It isn't exactly a well known title at this point, having only been on the market for five months and being written by an unknown author. But it's selling well enough that he has started to reap his reward. Thus he's splurged a bit on a few nice outfits, though his wardrobe is still modest in size. He can be a bit arrogant and prideful at times, but is generally good natured and deeply cares for his friends. He is good at finding alternatives to situations that others might not think of and often keeps a level head in stressful situations. Since the group’s first adventure, and even during it, he has been tempted to chronicle their travels in novel form, though he has yet to bring it up.

Silenmon: Looks like a white Koromon with blue eyes. It would seem it is strapping a small white speaker to the top if it's head with it's ears, but it is in fact part of the Digimon. As the name implies, it is silent.
Attack: It has no name, because well, it's silent. It emits an incredibly loud sound from the speaker to attack, it is very powerful at close range... for an in training attack. Especially when it catches it's target by surprise.

Pianissimon: At first glance this Digimon may be mistaken for it's fellow rookie, the popular Renamon. But its definitely a different mon. She is almost entirely white and has bat traits. This includes her ears, though they are only slightly larger than a Renamon's. She also has legitimate wings rather than shoulder fluff resembling such, they are however small and of little use. They are the only part of her body that isn't white, instead being black. Her tail is... well a bat tail. Most bats don't have them, but some do. If you want a reference I'll find one. Her body is also somewhat lighter and her limbs a bit smaller due to some bat influence on her skeletal system. The eyes have intensity similar to Renamon, but have a normal white outer eye and an icy blue iris. She has black armguards, but they serve a special sort of purpose rather than just being there. They have an alternating pattern of black and white circles, ending with a large black dot in the middle, on the backs of the fist areas. these are speakers. She can tune in music with them just by thinking of it if she wants to. Sometimes her ears twitch as she does so. She speaks with an incredibly soft voice.
Attacks: Mega Bass- uses a sound wave, either focused through her hand or the speakers directly, to addle a foe and/or add extra power to physical blows.
The Beat- not so much an attack as it is a technique. Pianissimon and many of her Digivolutions have this ability. It allows her to move with the music with great skill on the spot, mostly of use in dodging but can make for especially aggressive fighting as well.

A couple things I was curious about, what kind of Digivice is being used? Or does it not matter what we use? Are we using the english names here or what? A few of those Digimon others have posted seemed to have kept the japanese name rather than switching to the english version.

Koze: Dodomon? Since that's a wiki I just wanted to point out that any relation to the dodo bird in it's name seems doubtful IMO. It just doesn't make sense unless I'm missing something about that Digimon.

And finally... jeeze some of you guys chose power houses! <.< makes me wonder what insane odds there will be to counter balance it...

Knuckles: Sure, you can join. As for digivolving ... well, that's mostly just a measure to ensure nobody goes to Mega level on the first page :-P. If you want to digivolve at a specific time, let me know, and I'll set things up for you :). This goes for everyone!

Also, and I could've sworn I posted this in the first post (but I guess I was wrong), we'll be using the first-season digivice. I don't really like the later ones, they're too ... rubbery.

XD I'd rather simply set things up for myself just by seeing what unfolds and responding to it, but fine. Not that big a deal, as long as you're not rediculous, and I can tell you're not.

And truly... despite the fact that I've seen it a good number of times, I can't understand why anyone would want to go all uber right away. There are some exceptions based on story that I could see it, but rather rare sort of thing.

XD first season? Nooooo... drats. They're my least favorite. So tiny, and retro. Didn't even have an individualistic look unless they were pumped full of energy. My favorite was season two's personally.

A virus type, he looks an anthro snake(still no legs) and covered in rock hard scales. On his arms he wears ancient gauntlets. His attacks are the Nocturn Claw(dark claws extend from the gauntlets), Serpentine Eyes(a mind control technique, effective for 30 secs) and Petra-Stare(temporarily freezes the opponent).

Ultimate:

A virus, "Beast Man" digimon. His appearance is that of a biped dragonic warrior, he wears armour on his upper torso, thighs, and legs. His weapon of choice is a black and ruby trident. His main attacks are the Chaos Neblem(Slashes and Stabs the opponent with said trident) and Leviathan's Wrath(He gathers the energy around him and focuses it in his maw, then fires it at the opponent. He's vulnerable after completing the attack.)

Sounds good, cept the champion has the petra-glare as well. I think the mind reader bit could be stronger than the petrifying bit, may be best if you transfer it to an even higher form.

Meh, I see some good in posting orders. Keeps you from getting fucked over when you want to say something or do something in a certain situation. But as long as no one super bursts the RP it should be fine as is.

Well, I've always found posting orders to be the death of RPs. Slow posters (weather due to life, or lack of interest) are exactly the problem here: you're waiting on one specific guy, which is fine in very specific scenes, but it just doesn't fly in an entire RP. Plus, you end up wanting to reply to a post, but have to wait for others to post first, and by the time they've posted and moved things along, the moment had passed.

Just that your digimon's personality plays a very strong role as well.

Also, no you cannot "talk" to your digimon, any more than you can talk to yourself. And you do not share your digimon's memories, just instincts. Like how to walk on four legs without tripping, or how to fly, or how to use your attacks and such.

What I was intending on was doing a divergant path for awhile and then hooking up with the main group, but now it doesn't seem like that's an option for me because I apparantly can't really do anything.

In other news, as my post in the RP thread might have hinted, no, we can't digivolve quite yet. There's still some stuff we gots ta do before we can digivolve.
