I've been reading around this section a bit. So much has been going on surrounding anger and irritation. After a closer look, I've noticed that a lot of this could have been avoided. Most of it starts here, on this forum, furry-furry.com. We're all in a group, and just like the humans we are, we have our ups and downs. The fluctuation in this can cause arguments, discussions and sometimes down right flame wars. For this, I'll take a bit of a view on someone starting on this site.

Your first day, as a little cub on the site. Unknown, unloved by members, yet not hated, just a newbie. Afcourse, you get your introduction cookie from our beloved moderator Idesin, and here your venture into the unknown starts. Maybe you're new to the entire furry fandom all together, then you will probably post a lot of threads asking about what the hell this furry thing is. A bit more experienced, getting to know the tools of the site, and the workings of this little family that is actually quite big, if you just look underneath the couch and on the scratching poles. You've worked out what you are, what kind of animal and figure you represent. Now, it is time to get a bit playful.

Roleplay. As Idesin once put it, F2F's favorite passtime. A lot of threads to choose from. Things like: (Literates only.), (People that I haven't RP'd with) and (Closed.) are such examples. What does this all mean? Why are the strange added titles all so scary. Don't worry though, just go ahead and read some stickies. To help, here is a little rundown.

(Literates only.)
If you are new to the role playing game, then you want to avoid these threads. This little added thing means that the thread starter is looking for experiences players. One must be able to form his or her character to great detail, play along while already knowing the rules of it all. Paragraphs of text mustn't scare you at all. Yet, you can read through these as a great help. Just watch the more experienced roleplayers for a while, it can be a great help.

(Open.)
More of a thread for you. It is, as it stated, completely open. Be whoever you want to be, just stick to the rp'ing rules. Do your best to post more then a single line. Get to know some furs, make friends, play with them. Just remember that RP should be fun for everyone, so try and make it as interesting as possible.

(Closed.)
This can pretty much mean two things. Either the RP is filled with players, and to avoid a major story and confusion, it has been closed down for new entries. Or, it can mean that the story has been set. There is a single spot open, and that, for example, can be a milkman working his daily shift. The thread starter can state how you two will meet, and where the story must go.

(People I haven't RP'd with.)
Pretty obvious. If you have never RP'd with the thread starter, jump right in.

(PM)
This means that you must send a personal message to the thread starter, showing your interest of joining. He or she will then send a message back with instructions on how to join.

(M/M) (M/F) (F/F) (M/M/F)
This means the type of yiff that will occur in this thread. M stands for male, F for female. For example: (M/M) means gay yiff. Join in, but only if you're comfortable participating or reading this kind.

(Tentacle) (Rape) (Impregnation) (Vore) (Scat) (WS)
These apply to fetishes that the RP will revolve around. Tentacle for someone having sex with tentacles. Rape for forced sex. Impregnation for someone getting pregnant. If there is actual cubs being born is unsure. Vore stands for someone getting eaten. Scat for scat play and ws for watersports, or in other words; furs peeing over each other. If you are not comfortable with the fetish going on in the thread, do not join. Simple as that.

*Edit from Admins* True Rape will NOT be allowed. Playfully and slight S&M version that lovers will do in play is acceptable to a point. RAPE will NOT be allowed!

(No extra title.)
The title of the thread doesn't always have an extra bit to tell you if it is accessible or not. These, you can better check out. If two furs are already playing, just check how their posts look. Is it a level you can cope with, if not excel? Then get in. If it's to much, better stay out.

During your time, posting here and there, you'll grow. By practice and experience you'll get to know who is who, and which furs you can mess with, and which not. In my personal view, it is something like this.

Age 0 to a week: You've made your introduction, yet the site is still vast. A lot to see, a lot of furs to meet. If you feel the buzz I felt, then you can't wait to get to know it all better.

Age a week to a month: Depending if this is your first furry board, or first furry days, you've been obtaining a lot of information about furries. Maybe you'll have ventured into the roleplay area's a little.

A month to a couple of months: You're proud to call yourself a member of F2F. By now, you can name around four to six moderators, know the admin and what he is like. The rules, and the way of acting liked around the board is stamped into your brain. You still very much play by the rules. People probably like you, but not enough to understand you're just playing around, and mean only love.

Longer: The initial buzz has calmed. Like the full-grown fur that you are you stroll around the board, seeing newbies and going all nostalgic about your own days as a little cub. Maybe you can give him or her a push in the right direction, help him or her avoid the traps you've fallen into. By now, the other furries around here know who you are. You can kid a little, make a swear or two because most furs know you only do it because you love them so much. Your MSN or other form if IM list has grown, become a lot of cuddly and hairy.

But things might go wrong. Maybe you have a bit of a discussion with a moderator, or other member. It's Important not to get all angry and whiny. Your status can drop fairly easily. Never let any RP get to you personally, never let any flame war get to you, and most important of all, don't let anti's trolling here bring you down.

Now, this thread had formed in my head for no particular reason. I'm posting it here, because I also know some furs that have gone totally berserk because things didn't work out. Also, as an added note, this is pretty much how it went for me, and some friends I know.

If anyone else has more on this topic. Maybe some example furs that shall not be named, and explain how their misbehavior and leaving could have been avoided, please do so.

Very well said Tirac...I would also like to say... No matter what you think about the Admin staff, their word is final, so please dont try and argue with them because most of the time they are correct. If you belive that somethign has wrongfully happened, dont psot it out in the open, send them a pm and word it nicely so you dont give of a bad vibe. ex "Dear, Idesign, I was wondering if I could have a moment of your time...ect ect

Wow, never thought this would actually get stickied. Still strange how all of this came to me in a dream. I'll write the dream to a story someday, it was quite enjoyable. Thanks for all the nice comments and rep and all that. *hugs you all*

I already told you this via PM, Thoran, but this is just about the best guide that I have ever read on the subject, and the best rendered as well. Move over, whoever wrote the guiding rules for this site. Step aside, those who attempt to explain. There is a new teacher in town, and his name is Thoran Managen.
