Like Foxes Through Fences - The Band (Read First Post - 2 places available)

Dusk, and sitting in an untidy den, Equium auf der Zorazs taps frantically at his laptop. Equium, a red fox in his early 20s had always had a dream hobby. It was simple - to be the bass player in an amateur rock band. Oh sure, he'd tried his paw at bands in the past. But it never worked for him. The band always split up... gigs always failed... audiences never turned up... but this time would be different. For this band would be his own. He had registered with pawsearch.net, a website which hosted adverts in the local community. He proof read his advert before pressing submit.

Hiya everyone!

I am an eager young fox looking to start a rock band. I have been playing bass since my early teens and have recently learned keyboards as well! I am looking for people to help me start off "Like Foxes Through Fences", and we'll take the community by storm... perhaps. Don't let the name put you off, all species welcome, providing you're a dab paw with an instrument. I am after:

Hey what's up. I'm paw and I'm a guitarist... I've played guitar since I was 11 I think. Mostly Metal and rock and stuff. My old band and I broke up for a year ago... and music is like the part of my heart that comes out... and reaches people. So I'm here to make a difference! ROCK ON!*Makes random solos on my guitar*

Later that evening, Paw arrived round Equium's with a silver and black guitar and a small amp. "Okay Paw," said Equium, "knock me out."

[Wolfspawn]

*Knots my hair in a ponytail and pulls up a dusty black pick out of my pocket*

That depends... what would you like to hear? *Begins to tune my guitar*

[Equium]

Equium sits. "Well... you mentioned you've been in a metal band. Knock us out a solo in C and whatever chords you want to throw in. Seriously, go nuts!"

He chuckled to himself and sat back.

[Wolfspawn]

*Evily grins at you and waves my hair as I places my paw high on the guitar throat*

Ok babe... this is like a randomly made solo from various artists and styles I've been inspired to do.

*Begins slowly by tapping on the darker strings in a swift motion and then finish it with a powerslam on the 12'th room. Pulls back my paw, drawing it up again to make it reversed and then hastily places my paw on the higher strings b & e to make an awesome Powermetal solo, works my way up and down as I slowly works my way to the base end of the guitar. When I'm there I let the tune fall, and then places my left paw on the 9'th room to tap meanwhile I tap with the right paw on the 14'th toom on the b string in a fast motion.

After some seconds of solo I gets back up to take a straight Ess and then plays some speeded hamerfall solos...

Ends it all with an A at the 2'th door on the E & A strings.*

Equium sat upright and whistled. "Not bad. Better than not bad, in fact! If you're looking for a band, I'd be more than happy to put you in the L.F.T.F. line up! What do you say?"

[Wolfspawn]

Awesome dude! Uhh.... I only have one question thou!

[Equium]

"Yeh, sure." said Equium. "What's up?"

[Wolfspawn]

*Scratches my head* What does the L.F.T.F stands for?

[Equium]

"Paw, just how closely did you read the advert?" Equium chuckled. "Like Foxes Through Fences. It's the name of the band. If the rest of the band doesn't like it, we can always discuss a new one, but let's get the band together, first eh?"

Equium showed Paw outside. "Thanks for coming, Paw. You've got my phone number, I've got yours, keep in touch and I'll let you know when our first practice will be!"

*Puts the phone note in my pocket* Awesome! Rock on untill then :strong:

*Gets out through the door...

[Sahoni]

Sahoni read the post.

"I need a new band... Hopefully this ones won't sell out." He called the number and cleared he throat. "Osahyo. My name is Sahoni Waya, I'm inquireing about the position as a singer."

[Equium]

"Superb!" replied Equium. "You know what? It's a clear line. I'd like to invite you around to give us a trial, but give us a rousing verse on the phone there!" He chuckled to himself as Sahoni cleared his throat on the other end.

[Sahoni]

"If you don't mind, I'd like to sing you a part of a song I'm writing.
There you were risen'
like a messenger of hope, a dove
A light that was shinen'
Like a beacon of light from above."
He sang pouring his soul into it. He was wagging his tail on his end.

[Equium]

There was a short pause after Sahoni finished singing.

"Sounds good! Always helps to have a singer who can write as well! Hey, if you can come round to 17 Larch Parade at some point this evening, perhaps you can sing a couple of your own songs? I really would love to hear them! Bring any additional instruments you can play too!"

[Sahoni]

"Sounds good. I don't have alot of songs though. I mostly did small town stuff before. I'lll bring a couple I know though. That okay?" he laughed and smiled. The wolf grabbed his bag and harmonica.

[Equium]

Equium set about clearing the bass amps and guitars, and waited for Sahoni to arrive.

About an hour later, a knock came at the door, and a visibly enthusiastic Sahona, bag in hand, was ready to go.

[Sahoni]

Sahoni was mostly covered in blue fur. There were exceptions though. His paws, tail tip, ear tips, stomach, and a waxing creasent moon on his forehead which where all white. He had golden yellow eyes and both his ears were peirced twice with iron bars. He wore a black shirt supporting the Smashing Pumpkins and baggy blue jeans. His hair was shaggy and uncept. "Osahyo."

[Equium]

"Pleased to meet you." said Equium. He took a step back and held an arm aloft to beckon Sahori into the den.

"Please, go straight through to the front, I have everything prepared for you." Equium followed Sahori in and sat down in his seat. "So you're a writer too?" asked Equium. "What kind of stuff have you written in the past? Bearing in mind, we already have a guitarist who used to play a bit of metal."

[Sahoni]

"Yes, a writer. Mostly blues and punk, but I can write any type really. If I give it a shot." he flashed a big cheesy smile. He pulled out his harmonica and book of songs. "Ready when you are. Erm, whats your name?"

[Equium]

"I'm Equium, the guy whose ad you read. I'm the bass player," he said, pointing obviously to his bass, propped in the corner, "and we have Paw, a wolf who used to play in a metal band. So we have a wonderful mix of genres at the moment!" he said with a smile.

"Just take your time, relax, and show me what you've got."

[Sahoni]

"Um, Paw let me start with something you may be more familier with... mind if I do some Rise Agienst?" he cocked his head and grinned at him. "You mind Equium?"

[Equium]

((Pro tip: Read the thread, Paw has left the den at this point. XD))

"Knock yourself out, Sahoni. Just sing what you're comfortable with."

[Sahoni]

"They turn the lights down low,

Sahoni sang with a grin. "How was that? Did I do good?"

[Equium]

"Well, I think we've got a singer!" Equium's eyes widened. "Fancy showing us a bit of harmonica skills as well, or is that taking things too far?" he chuckled.

[Sahoni]

"Thats why I brought it" He laughed. He pressed his muzzle to the Harmonica. He started to pick out a slow blues tune. He tapped footpaw.
