For about two hundred years there had always been a certain building, a certain place, that was the center of gossip and discussion. It was a large building made from black stones. It was like a castle with a open court in the middle, a massive tower rising from the building up touching the clouds. No one knew who made it, or even how, but it was there. Beings, dark robed, were often seen passing in and out, but since it was built on neutral ground, it was left alone. Nothing bad ever came from it, it didn't really do anything. There were no entries, and the few that were brave enough to fire a cannonball at it found that it did no damage. To some, it became a thing of religion, worshiping the Castle Dwellers, or the robed creatures or shadows that flew in the sky.

Then a hundred years back something changed. Doors appeared. A crowd was drawn. The entrance opened, a dark robed figure stepping out, it's face hidden by a unnatural shadow. It spoke to the villagers, explained the matter. From there, it went. Youngsters could come, attend, and learn the Arcane skills in order to join the ranks of mages, and take care of the planet, it's nature, and the furs that lived on it. To become a mage soon became a thing of great importance. All the kings were replaced with those that held the gifts. The nation was turned upside down, but in a very good way. Rivalling nations of course took interest, sent out their spies to investigate, even tried to get their own children into this strange education, but these were all quickly filtered out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a roleplay for semi-literates. Here me, Thoran Enkidu Gren'Ol Fekth Managen, teacher, will teach you the arcane arts together with Draconicon Nocinocard, head dragon of the school. PM me if you wish to be a teacher, PM me for questions, or PM me because you feel like asking anything about anything. This roleplay held in the medival ages, keep that in mind. You can come from anywhere, drawn to this strange place where you will be taught. The exact year is 1200 A.C, and the house is standing 'somewhere' in the current United Kingdom.

Keep in mind that major timeskips might accur. Join in young, because you might leave after seven years. These skips will be very clearly noticed. Also, actual tests will occur, how that is done, that will be cleared later.

As the first day of educating the masses began to roll closer, Draconicon Lanirelap Palerinal Nocinocard looked out the window of his office of the school. Situated at the top of the tower within the castle walls, he could see everything for miles around, and in Britain, that was something that was quite important. Even in the past, when the druids were around, their magic was suspected of trickery more often than not, and they had been an accepted part of the nation. What this school represented was something quite a bit different.

Looking from the window to the courtyard, he saw the year's initiates waiting. They weren't the most numerous that it had ever been, but that was something to be expected. He just hoped that not all of them would wash out.

Damo Grrrrrrl Hrrrrlrrrr Stat stood within the small crowd of people that had gathered outside of this marvel of a tower, all to learn the wonderful art of magic. This lumbering creature was half bear, half demon, fuzzy brown fur covering him all over, red cracks and streaks striping over most of his body. His eyes were a deep red. He had come to really learn about the arts of this fine skill and refine them, all so that he could protect himself from the horrors of this world. Being in england, which was so heavily puritan influenced, he needed to keep up his guard for anyone trying to destroy him for what he was.

The bear stared up at one of the towers, sensing the two magical presences inside, who could only have been the mentors within the premesis. He knew this would be quite an enjoyable experience, and that he would be pushed to work very hard. It was certainly what he wanted.

A robed figure made it's way from the large crowd of growing students, for the moment it kept it's hood up, the only thing being shown underneath was the faint outline of a saurian snout and a few long locks of crimson hair that spread out from the sides of the hood. The figure turned out to be a dragon as it chose to pull it's hood back after a moment, ice blue eyes searching over the campus behind a pair of circular glasses. His scales were white as snow, reflecting the sun's rays and making him quite the spectal to behold in his long and black cloak.

He appeared to be searching for something or maybe he was just lost, whatever the means he chose to continue walking forwards. Perhaps he would meet an instructer soon or maybe even a head-teacher, his eyes still searching as he passed by a rather large tower. He could feel a strange tugging in his aura, causing him to look up towards the large spire, no doubt there was one of great magical power atop said tower.

A waft of dark flames rose up over the edge of the roof of the tower. When it dissipated, it had left behind a dark red creature. His yellow pupil less eyes looked down over the crowd, seeing things that others would not. Each individual down there showed their aura to him, even though they didn't know. With this, he could see the various energies, strengths and weaknesses of the hoping-to-become mages. Once he checked out each, it was time for the first test, sort to say. He rose up, spreading his large dark red demonic wings, and jumped down.

With a loud bang, a crack ripping through the ground he landed, a wind blowing out from where he stood. Not doing anything, not saying anything, he just stood there, staring at the now scared looking possible students. Any of that that would scream, run away, or simply faint, would be disallowed instantly. Any student here needed a strong heart, a mind that was willing to overcome any bumps in the road, to be able to tap into the energy of the planet and use it to protect it.

The demon smiled, a row of very sharp white teeth baring, black claws glistering in the light of the sun, out the paws that stuck out of his dark robe. "Make a move... any of you." He thought silently, staring over the shocked group.

Damo looked up to notice the magic of the creature, and smiled as he came crashing to the ground. He felt the small rumble and chuckled softly. He could tell he would receive quite a few dramatic entrances from people. He hurried to the front of the line, walking towards the red figure with a wide smile, "Charmed, my fellow demon! My name is Damo. It is wonderful to meet you good sir." He didn't care in the least if this was out of order, or unexpected. He felt it rude to simply ignore him. He extended a paw in a friendly gesture, hoping to receive a handshake back.

The white dragon's concentration was broken when he heard a large crash behind him, he was startled and quickly turned to see what had caused the large commotion. What he saw further surprised him, a demon looking creature in hooded garb was standing there not far from the other mass of students. "Damn..." The white drake muttered under his breath as he made his way back over to the rest of the students, all he could do was blame his natural curiousity for missing out on something undoubtidly important.

Finding a space at the edge of the crowd he pulled his hood back up, not wanting many to see that he was of dragon species. His kind were naturally gifted with an affinity to magic, but he was lacking in any magical training at all thusfar. With a small grumble at the possibility he was the only dragon in the group, Darius leaned his head up enough to watch the demon, but also conceal his species from the crowd around him.

James looked up from his map, making sure he was on the right street. The gray kittyhawk stood at an intersection, and looked left down the street. Seeing the large building of black stones, he checked the map again and set off towards it.

After a few moments, he reached the building. He looked up at it, then glanced down at the black kitten (feral) in his cloak's pocket. The kitten had been abandoned, and he'd rescued it and fed it. The two had been friends ever since.

"Iiiiiiiiii'm no architect," he said, "but I'd say this is the place." The cat mewed in agreement, and James stepped into the crowd, ready for whatever was to come.

He wasn't kept waiting, as some sort of demon leapt from the top of the building, and landed with a resounding crack in front of the group. An avian next to th ekittyhawk ran away, and James just watched him in amusement. He started clapping (not so easy when your hands are talons, but easier with gloves) and let out a low whistle.

"Very impressive," he said to his cat. The kitten mewed in agreement.

Thoran stared at the bear, his eyes flashing shortly, digging into the bear's very essence without pain or harm. There he found a demonic essence, but it was tainted with that of Mother Earth. "A half-demon." He grumbled shortly, watching more students run off scared. "I didn't expect someone like you to be in this plane of existence." Not saying anything further he turned around and walked off, opening the large door, gesturing the small group that was left to follow in. In his head, he contacted the dragon in the top of the tower. "Mister Nocinocard, the group has been cut down from around 20 to around 8. To my suprise, there is a half-demon bear in the group, who of course, stayed. Do your test to cut the group down further."

((If any wants to join, do it now. After this, I'm moving it to reserved and lock it for further new furs entering.))

The dragon remained in the shadows of the tower, inside it, looking down from his window at the top of said tower, and chuckled to himself. It was amusing to watch all the people run from a rather simple bit of magic, and to see the ones that stayed almost realize that for themselves. "Thoran, give them a small lightning show, nothing damaging, but showy. After that, bring the ones that are still around into the inner courtyard. I shall make my own entrance there."

Looking on with the rest of the people at the red creature, Karo, A chinese Neko boy who was somewhat skilled in the arts of swordfighting glared the red creature down, mumbling under his breath "I should start somthing... but will i be able to end it...?"

Karo unsheated his katana, and pointed it at the red creature, but unsheathed it as he saw it eyes peirce into his aura

((sheathed, spelling error)) Karo dashed into the tower as the small group of people walked inside "this tower... is more than what it seems..." Karo looked at the red creature, gesturing timidness, but seriousness "you there... red one... what is this place, sir?"

Darkness, all consuming, denying the light and damning the blessing of sight. It was the darkened view of one of the many class rooms of the work of architecture that served as a respite and a font of knowledge for all mages. In the distance a flicker of light exploded into view, though small, its light was far beyond comprehension for the size of the flame, illuminating the room in its fullness, banishing away the shadows back to the realms they had came from. The room was well kept, constructed from solid black granite stone. The walls smooth and dull, playing home to rows of book shelves, cabinets and lockers that held contents both obscure and visible to all.

In the front of the class room, an immense section of the wall, nearly all of it had been cut out and replaced by obsidian stone, so fine and pure it's surface was tantamount to an undisturbed pool of the darkest water. The room itself had no desks or chairs save a large desk in front of the class room that had several books and materials kept in neatly organized rows and stacks.

Though no one that could be seen in the class room, there were still signs of life. Objects moved, though on their own, they still moved. Rearanging themselves to go to their rightful places, the walls slowly becoming less dull and more filled with luster as though they were being pulled back through time. The obsidian mirror infront of the classroom rippled for not but a second, vague shadows appearing within its depths, a group, a gather, a moddled patch of new iniates, their eyes blind to the arcane universe around them, seeing only what they chose to see and not what was truely there, only a select few having already caught but a flicker of the true portrait the universe had painted for all to see. It rippled again, fading back to its solid state just as the light vanished from

the room. The teacher had been ready for some time now, and the final preperations had been made. The teacher's test was a simple one. Anyone who wanted to participate in his class had to pass it. Those that did not, would be denied access to the knowledge the teacher held.
