(basically I had an idea to make a rp where the characters have to try to defeat the very creator of their world, basically me. it is well known in this world that the ruler, the king, created everything but he’s a jerk and tyrannical ruler all just cuz he wanted to create this world for this adventure to happen hehe.)

(just no god letting...well...cept for me kinda, but don’t worry, please speak English and be understandable and please be a regular poster, or at least be able to post on average once a day, its ok if you miss a day or something)

In a place where there is nothing, a vacant vacuum that need to be filled. In a single moment their was everything! their was.....the roleplay maker! He crafted a world where their was no real technology, no planes, trains, or automobiles. He made for himself a world that was like medieval days (more like something out of dragon quest really), how ever with each furry arthro creature he gave life too, he gave them a gift. The power of one of the great 5 arts: enhancer, conjuror, manipulator, supporter, and illusionist. Many but not all choose to except and work on their natural art to help make their life easier or fight off monsters that try to hurt them or their village. In this world he created his very own he made him self a tyrannical ruler of this land, I being of supreme god like ability, one that could snuff out an army with but a gesture. However to balance the power of this world he created five identical pendants that made the wearer immune to his power and given the ability to injure if not kill the all mighty creature. With the five pendants scattered to the winds, he attached a destiny to them, that one day each user of the five arts will bare a pendent and fight the seemingly immortal ruler and defeat him to bring peace and joy to the land.

Enhancer: can strengthen or reinforce natural abilities (strength, sight, etc.) or objects (make sword stronger/sharper, a shield more durable)

Conjuror: has the ability to create three items. Once a Conjuror creates and chooses these item, they are the only thing they can ever conjure again, but can create them or make them disappear at will. The items are usually given a special power or ability to assist the creature in some way (flaming sword, yada yada).

Manipulator: They have the ability to control objects or living things. However the relative size or mental resistance of the living thing being controlled limits the number of living things one can control. The same applies to inanimate objects.

Illusionist: Someone like this has the ability to cast illusions on others, even the ability to make oneself invisible.

Supporter: When people are born with this art they are given the ability to heal others of injuries and boost the abilities of others.

(Ill let the first couple people make characters and then ill take whats left over, though if no one posts in a day ill make a character)

Our story begins as many storys do. In a small villege on the other side of the world from the Kings castle. It is a smiple place, even simplier then the rest of the world. This land was owned by the people of a proud tribe that loved a simpler way of life. Many in the villege wore nothing but the simplest of clothing, a simple loincloth. It was definetly primitive compared to the rest of the world but it was a humble and simple life, full of joy and enjoyment. However secretly in the villege leaders hut, in a smiple wooden box hides a secret that will spark the begining of ones destiny.

Sounds interesting, I'll give it a shot.

Name: Draugr
Age: 22
Species: Dragon
Art: Manipulator
Accessories: ??? (Not sure what you want here)
Appearance: Body weight and height could best be described as your "average joe." Scales are a dark green, nearly black, with a slightly lighter shade on his underbelly. A scar runs from just above his left eye and down the side of his neck, stopping just over his heart. Both eyes are capable of sight, however, his left eye is incapable of seeing anything in the peripheral vision range due to the injury. Around his neck he wears a small metal scrap with the word "Irae" etched into it.

It was mid day by the time Taemestra entered the village on the back of a black horse, it had been weeks ago since she had parted company with her army. She left her best warrior Flavion as head of the army in her stead, he had been with her from the first day and fought by her side in all of the battles they had seen. The army was 6000 strong now, and they had found a place fit to settle and create an actual home land after forever wandering and fighting wars where they found them. Flavion had been struck by her sudden news of her leaving, not understanding why on earth she would want to do that.

(*Flash back*)

"Leaving?! What do you mean by Taemestra is leaving us?"

Flavion shouted at the messenger hoplite in shock and no understanding, he turned and hurridly headed twords Taemestra's tent. When he arrived at the entrance he re adjusted his attutude and composed himself, then requested entrance.

"Come."

He entered her tent, and stood a bit shocked but tried not to show it. She was nude just having given herself a towel bath, she was prepping her tunic and her armor and she had her back to him.

"Flavion, tis hot out today is it not?"

He stood silent for a moment, then spoke.

"My lord...is it true that you are leaving us??"

"Yes. Flavion, indeed I am. I have another calling."

"But...what about the men? They..."

"They will do just fine, under your guide Flavion. I am entrusting you to that, and the future of this soon to be settlement."

Flavion was shocked, he could not belive what his friend of years and the most goddess like warrior any of them had ever seen was saying. As he opened his mouth to speak but was cut off.

"My friend, you above all should have known I would be leaving. I have never known peace, I did not become a warrior I was born what I am. I feel I am being called some where to the east, I feel and have been told by the Gods that my true destiny lies east beyond the horizon some where."

"The...Gods?"

"Yes Flavion."

She had finished putting on her armor, tightned the lacings and adjusted every thing perfectly and was putting on her sword. She grabbed her shield and slung it over her back and grabbed her helm, Flavion still a bit stunned but now understood. He had after all known her better than any one else alive, aside from her parents may the Gods bless them in their graves. He followed her out of the tent back into the blazing sun of the plains among the forrest of tents of the Myrmidon army, there stood her horse loaded some what lightly with supplys. Leather bags with preserved foods and water bladders, and assorted other supplys. She turned to Flavion after patting her horse, gave him a slight smile.

"Flavion, my loyal friend. You have fought well these years with me among the Myrmidons, you are the best of us..."

"No my lord, tis you who is the best of us."

She placed a hand on his shoulder in a gesture of friendship, he looked into her eyes as she smiled at him.

"You will do well, it is why I place you in my stead. One day I may return, but I do not belive I will ever return to any where this time... But on the off hand chance that I do, I will be looking for a city on the horizon when I do."

She gently shook his shoulder and grinned again, she knew he could do well in her place. She knew she would never return, the Gods had told her of her destiny and also that she will never see her army again.

"May the God's smile upon you Taemestra, may we meet again here or one the other side of the river Styx."

She put on her helm and secured a spear in her saddle rig and mounted her horse, she looked back at him and seen the sadness in the lines of his weather beaten face.

"And may the God's look upon you and favor you, Flavion king of the Myrmidons."

She smiled and spun her horse round and galloped off, heading east towards her calling.

(*End Flash back*)

As she made her way through the small village the villagers parted like a small sea before her approach, their eyes grew very wide when they looked upon her. She could tell it was a mix of facination and fear, but mostly fear. She had only encountered 1-2 other even smaller villages along her path east, she had located and spoken to each elder leader of the villages. Though the one before this the old leader had passed away in the night before her arrival, she had began to wonder how much further she would have to travel before she would meet this old village leader she was looking for. He was one who held the key to what destiny the Gods had planned for her, but which village would he be in? She felt she was travelling the correct path, she supposed it was all in good time that the Gods would present it to her the path her destiny laid upon.

She attempted asking a few of the ragged looking villegers where their leader resided, every one of them said nothing just more faces full of fear that ran from her. She found a small boy with his mother that actually spoke to her, this was a striking turn of events.

Boy* "Soldier! Soldier! Are you looking for the village leader?"

She stopped her horse, and looked down upon him.

"I am, do you know where he is? I only wish to speak with him."

The boys mother grabbed him and attempted to reel him away from what she thought was a very bad person, they had not seen any of her sort around this area ever though they had all heard the tales of great and legendary warriors from the west. But he jerked away from her excitedly, and came right to the side of her horse against his mothers protests. She tried appologizing to her for her boys brash ignorance, she went on and on until Taemestra cut her off.

"Never mind that woman, you have no need to fear me. I have come from afar seeking councel with your elder, I come in peace and no harm come to any one here."

The boy spoke up loudly and cheerfully, against his mothers nervous wishes.

Boy*"He lives in that big hut down there, the one with the red and black cloth door!."

She smiled at the boy, and began to thank him when his mother dragged him away and off into the village dirt street.

"Hum, these people have never seen warriors of my like here. At least in a very long time, those who remember are old and keep silent except for their fancy tales."

She nudged her sandled heels into her horses ribs and began to make her way down the dirt street, no rush among the people that she passed by.

Draugr
April 10th, 2009, 02:40 AM
Draugr wiped the sweat from his brow, beating the heated piece of metal over a blacksmith's anvil. Times had been hard, and even with the entire country moving to war, it was difficult to sell any sort of weaponry. Still, everyone needed dumb horses to plow their fields, harvest crops, and travel to the next town over to see relatives. And that meant they needed new horseshoes, quite regularly.

After about a minute more of pounding, he grabbed the glowing shoe and dunked it in a pail of water. Steam shot up into the small, poorly ventilated room, enveloping everything in a cloud thick that the dragon could barely see his hands. He inhaled deeply, enjoying the moisture - while dragons were well equipped to survive in many different habitats, his specific ancestors originated in volcanic swamplands. The artificial steam room would have been quite therapeutic, even if he had not been exhausted from a solid day's work.

As he began to lock up, he caught sight of a tiny mouse darting under the table. Closing his eyes, he focused in on where he thought it was...there the creature lay!

"It's quite safe to come out, you know. Come."

The mouse darted up Dragur's pants, and tearing across his tattered shirt, finally came to rest on the palm of his hand.

He smiled at it, then placed it in a small leather pouch at his waist, and told it to go to sleep.

"Mittens will have a good dinner, tonight." he said aloud.

As he was locking the door to his shop, he heard some commotion out on the main street. He grabbed a long, dark brown trench coat of a rather plain design. The grime on it indicated the coat had seen many, many years use. It was in fact far older than Draugr himself - it was his father's father's war coat.

Pulling it tightly around himself, he shut the door, jiggling the handle to make sure it would not give way.

As he grew closer to the crowd, all he needed to do was follow the eyes of the townsfolk to see the source of attention. A lioness, obviously of some importance, though that reason was unbeknownst tot he dragon, was making her way through town, clad in some very extravagant armor.

He snaked his way through the crowd as best he could, futily trying to be subtle about the matter - dragons of his ancestry were naturally large and well-muscled.

She was heading straight towards the elder's hut...a takeover? This bore ill news. Draugr didn't want to get involved, however - despite his physical bulk, it had been years since he had engaged in any serious combat, and her armor looked pretty solid. Best to see how things played out for now.

(draugr, you can have an item you manipulate or something like that, such as idk a whip or you can manipulate people, or, i was sort of trying to avoid this, one of the elements but it would have to be with you to manipulate it, like fire you can summon it at will)

In the hut was an old Bull. He looked to be about 40-45ish, the age of just past his prime really. The bull sat their and was looking over an old scroll while having some tea. Suddenly his ears popped up and looked toward the door "someone...is comeing..." The very presence, even from a distance was amazingly strong, he could feel it to his very core.

Taemestra took in the sites of things and people, not turning her head to allow others to see that she was instinctively scanned for any thing out of place that might be a threat. She barely noticed that she was doing it, it was ingrained in her to do so, warriors could scarcely afford to be lax in their demeanor. Her eye quickly caught the obvious movement of a large dragon in a drovers long coat. She had never seen such a garment, and it looked slightly out of place in this area. She did not fret his presence but noted it just in case, no one else looked close to being any threat at all and to her even the big ones presence was not much of a concern. Finally she came upon the front of the large hut with the red and black cloth entryway, pulling slightly on the reigns brought the horse to a stop next to the entrance. After taking a quick glance around she dismounted, securing her horse to a rough wooden post. She stood for a moment, then waled up and parted the red and black cloth which appeared to be made of old dyed silk from the west trade routs.

"Village elder, I request an audience with you pertaining the Gods and myself. I hail from the west lands."

She awaited the elders permission to grant her council, she was hoping in the back of her mind that this would be the village. She had grown tired of traveling, she wished to finally be on her way with a goal.

(I will be in and out this weekend, I will stop in to post tomorrow. Just to let you all know.)

The bull looked up with curious and somewhat conscerned eyes. No one around wore such extravagent garments such as her. He wasnt sure what to say but the very wave of power she gave off a feeling to him that she was the one. "audience granted stranger, come in, being from the west is obvious from your garb and armor, i see the style has not changed over the years, i was once in the west for my travels as a youth, you may some tea if you like" He smiled and looked at her eyes, experience allowed him to peer into her very soul and told him it could indeed be her. "tell me...your art...i assume it is that of an enhancer correct?"

((Just to clarify...The Myrmidons of Greek myth were known for their loyalty to their leaders. Myrmidon came to mean "hired ruffian" (according to the Oxford English Dictionary) or "a loyal follower, especially one who executes orders without question, protest, or pity, unquestioning followers."))

She entered at his acceptance of council parting the silk entry way and passed through, after ducking through the entrance she stood looking at the old Bull that sat directly across from the entry way and removed her helm.

"Yes, I have traveled from the west 3 weeks and 4 days."

Shifting her helm to under her arm, she gave an ever so slight smile that she could not help.

"Things in the west has changed little since those times, there are still wars to be fought and kings to be made and broken."

She approached him, and introduced herself.

"I am Taemestra, daughter of Achilles and Persayus, Cousin of Patroclus, Hector and Paris King of New Troy, I am leader of the Myrmidon army Loyal to New Troy that still lies in the west."

After she introduced herself, she removed her shield and sat across from the old Bull. And kindly accepted his offer of tea, she had not even seen tea since she led her Myrmidons out of New Troy to conquest the lands east of it for the fertile grounds.

"Enhancer...yes, I suppose it is not hard to tell because of the sword, shield and armor that I wear. Though I contribute the *art* as you call it to the Gods, my line has had close connections with them including my father. But if it were not those things, how have you known my *art*?"

georgio
April 11th, 2009, 07:06 PM
The smiled softly watcher her walk in as she removed her helm. He gently nursed his as he heard her speak but was not surpried that she was women. "hm i see, kings to be broken indeed...." The bull looked her over and smirked and his ears tipped to her as she spoke of her origins. "Achilles you say heh, i suppose this is the fate of the old gods as i thought, i knew your father young lady, during my travels as a youth i met many and had bouts with many a warrior, but none like your father. He was a lion of furicious power and skill, i learned much from him about battle and about being a leader. you are welcome to stay here in my villege and rest yourself, we have the best black smith in all the known world should you need"

When he listened to her inquirey about how he knew, the bull could only smirk and nurse at his tea again "your very aura tells me you are a pollished warrior, whos soul belongs in battle. I felt you before you even came before my hut, we may be a villege of peace but we have had to defend ourselfs and hunt. i have not aged all these years without learning many things and identifying ones art is one of them. Besides, we are all born with one of the great arts child, i had a one in five shot anyhow hahaha!" The bull laughed, clearly not only being a proud warrior himself but a bull with a good sence of humor to boot.

In the moment of silence fell over them, the strong bull peered into her eyes, never blinking. He peered deeply into her very soul and saw a spark that he had seen in no other before and curled his lip in a grin of revelation. "so the gods have brought you here you say? i may not be familiar with gods of your people but the elder god of old that all new gods have stem from i am quite familiar with, im sure you were told the story as a child, of the king across the very world that gave it life? what raised a castle and a kingdom with a waft of his paw? but tell me what have your gods told you about your mission?"

Taemestra was not too surprised that he knew of the older days in the west, she was a bit surprised though to hear that he had known her father. He was the only other aside from her mother that knew him in those ways, she had told her a great deal of her father for she never knew him or seen him. He had died trying to protect her mother in the gardens of Old Troy, during Agamemnon's invasion and burning of Old Troy. When she grew of age she against her mothers wishes learned the arts of war, she could have very easily kept peace within herself but it was as if she were being lulled into learning to fight. Part of her was an unearthly desire, the other wanted to honor the legend of her father the great Achilles. Her mother disliked it a great deal because she did not want her only daughter to know nothing but war like her father, but she could not stop the girl who had the very spirit of her father and so she watched as young Taemestra learned then excelled faster than any man in the army could have imagined.

She had entered training at the young age of 12, she was 5 days away from her 16th birthday when she was inducted into the army the youngest recruit in any ones memory. But she stayed away from huge battles until she turned 17 and could not stand by any longer, from then on she fought in every skirmish and campaign there was earning honor and place quickly in the Trojan army. The soldiers especially the old ones remarked that she was exactly like her father, except that she was female. She turned down the highest ranks she was offered in the army, she knew well how to command but preferred to stay as a soldier. When she turned 19 in the spring while the Trojan army was resting in at a make shift camp along their march, the camp was visited by a small force in black armor that appeared to be friendlies. She later found out as she met them herself, they were the Myrmidons of old. Her fathers old army of veteran warriors, in fact some of the warriors that were serving with them were still there that fought along side her father. In the meeting between their leader and her army commander she was asked to sit in, when she was introduced for who she was the eyes of some of the old warriors lit up. It was shortly after this meeting that she wound up in the ranks of the Myrmidons, and it did not take but less than a year for her to assume command. Not because of her fathers memory or her lineage, but because she possessed the same skill, power and tenacity of her father and she did not ask for command she was given it. She led them on and on, battle after battle. Serving New Troy as an elite unit, they were called upon only for the biggest and toughest battles and wars because it was their specialty and they could pull off any thing that their King may wish. They were the toughest and the most skilled battle hardened warriors known, and they were known and feared. But before she made the decision to fight with the Myrmidons, her mother took her aside in her quarters in the castle. They spoke and she found that her mother was very proud of her, though she cried. Her mother then did some thing that Taemestra would have never foreseen, she came sliding a very old looking and dusty trunk. It was very old looking and looked extremely sturdy still, rusted and half rotten even. Her mother had troubled with the lock but it finally gave and she hesitantly opened it, what she presented next to her took Taemestra's breath away. Her fathers helm armor and shield he wore to every battle and it is what he died in, and the last thing her mother handed to her. It was wrapped in a very old plain wool looking cloth, when it rested in her hands it felt heavy but light at the same time strangely. Her mother told her to be very careful when she unwrapped it, stating...

"The thing is still sharp as hawk after all these years, be careful of it."

When the cloth was taken away from the object, Taemestra could not believe her eyes. She did not need to be told what it was, she knew immediately and felt it in her bones. It was her fathers sword, it looked nothing like any sword she had ever seen before. She drew it from it's sheath with a metallic sound that almost sang as it came free, she looked at it with astonished amazement. Her mother said that because she chose the path that she did, was the only reason why she was giving these to her. And that her father would have wanted them to be given to her, as a warrior he would have wanted his weapon and armor to be with her to protect her and give her strength. She had to have the armor slightly altered to fit her feminine form, after that it fit perfectly and hugged her like a second skin comfortably. The sword felt like a part of her, she felt so honored and nearly invulnerable wearing the helm armor, sword and shield. After the alterations were made, she donned the whole of it. Helm, armor, leg and forearm grieves shield and sword. She attended the next meeting of Kind Paris and the heads of the army, things ground to a silent halt when she walked into the chamber wearing all of her fathers armor. King Paris and a few others looked like they had seen a ghost, and she could not blame them really she supposed seeing her walk in like this was like looking at their old nightmare that was once upon a time.

But outside of her flash back, only a moment had passed nothing noticeable.

"You knew my father then, I honor you then as it is more than I can say unfortunately. Who is left of my fathers friends it is a great honor to meet any time, I myself have only my mothers recounts of him not only of who and how he was as a warrior but who he was as a man. Part of me was guided by what I can only say the hand of the Gods, the other part of me wanted to become what you see before you today to honor my fathers memory. I thank you for your hospitality, though I have no immediate need of a black smith this day. I haven't for some time really, since discovering and using my *art* as you call it. I have taken my fathers armor helm and sword and made it so that it never dulls and I have no idea if any thing could ever cause a need for a black smith with any of my armor or weapons."

She listened to him describe how he knew of her talent and her coming, she was transfixed and could not help but laugh a bit at his humor.

"Gods are Gods, all the same across the world though they have different names."

She paused a moment, then continued.

"I have heard the tales, though few in my lands believe them except oracles and witches. I have conversed with the Gods or rather they have with me in my dreams growing up and to this day, telling of lands beyond sight and of wars and battles I have yet to fight. I believe this to be true, and what that they foretell me is truth, because I have fought in several that have been predicted years before I found myself standing on the battle lines of those same fields. What has brought me here is near the same, yet it has an all too different feel to it. I suppose it was the same feeling my father had when he realized finally he was destined to die at Troy, that he was supposed to be there to serve the purpose of the Gods and claim his glory that he had sought. I feel compelled along this path, to travel and meet certain individuals along the way and one of them I believe to be you since you knew my father and I have known of no one this far east. And this King you speak of, I do not know quite yet. But I have a feeling in the end of this great plan of the Gods, that it will be not just myself that will look into the face of this creator King on the field of battle and close his eyes for him."

The bull smiled and nodded "i see, so you have been guided by fate and destiny itself here, just as it is my fate to pass this on to you but be warned this king is to be feared more then any other creature on this planet, wether the tales are true or not, he is formitable" He stood up and walked over to a corner of his hut and rummaged threw somethings as he came back with a wooden box and set it on the small table as he sat back down.

"you are a child of fate, you walk a path of destiny that was set to you long before you bore breath proud warrior, your path you walk is most important...tell me...what do you know of this?" The bull opened it slowly to reveal a pendent. It was a large oval blue opal with a gold rim around it and a gold chain attached to it. "i have gaurded this for years with my life...your father and i discovered it after reviling in the spoils of battle. i told him of what it was ment for the furture of the world and we agreed that i would keep it safe, knowing its destined barer would find it, though i would hav never thought it would the daughter of my old comrad"

She sat and listened well to what he had to say on this King he spoke of, she had heard much boasting about feared Kings over the years and each time those same Kings fell beneath her sword or a hail of arrows from her archers. But some where deep inside she felt a twinge, that his words of warning were to be taken to heart. And then he rose and went over on one side of the large hut, when he returned he presented some thing to her. Upon closer inspection she saw that it was a fairly large pendant with a large blue opal of the sort she had never laid eyes upon before, it was of a construction she had no knowledge over in fine gold.

"My father..."

She remembered an old tale her mother told her a long time ago about some jewel that her father had spoken of finding, it was a piece of jewelry that was told to have been made by the very hands of the Gods themselves. By what her father had relayed to her mother and her mother to her, there were five of these and each one did some thing relative to bringing the wearer invulnerability to the power of the Gods and even gave on the power to kill a God. She remembered little as this was long ago that she was told this, she was a little girl of but 9 years of age. But what she did recall was that her father and his Myrmidons along with an accompanying army from the east had defeated a warlord who had a price on his head, they were all hired by a distant King on the shores of the oceans. Well they had over run the citadel and commenced to burning and killing everyone, her father though took no part in the killing but cut a path to the main hold where the warlord would surely be holing up. He did find him, and he killed his guards and then the warlord named Taleous running him through with his own spear. After wards they were all going through the spoils, they sacked a temple at the citadels center that seemed to be dedicated to a God her father never seen before.

The rest is a blur in her memory, but this jewel that the Bull now held had to be the one that passed through her fathers hands. He had let one warrior of the assisting army take it in his care, her father must have known him well to allow some thing of the power that this was rumored to have pass to him. Though her father was rumored to have a Goddess for a mother, he wanted no part in what this was and entrusted it to that soldier.

"Your the one in the story my mother told me of my fathers quests before he met her on the beaches of Old Troy, your the soldier of the aiding army that helped my father and his Myrmidons over take and sack the citadel of the northern warlord Taleous."

She looked at the pendant a bit longer, it was beautiful and if all the legends held true it could also be a terrible thing but a needed one.

"This...it is one of five isn't it?...Me? It's bearer?"

She stopped, then made a comment that surprised even her.

"I wonder what my father would think of all of this, he served no King because he believed himself to be more worthy than most Kings and chose battle for the glory. I believe in the same, even though I am loyal to one King, and I would answer his call if he ever needed because of my mother. My army still lies to the west encamped, I have 6000 of the toughest most skilled Myrmidon soldiers at the ready if I call them to me."

She found herself needing and wishing her fathers guidance, she made a note that she would prey to the Gods. She did not waiver though, she was not brought up nor did she posses the ability to crack under pressure nor the enormity of any thing.

"I wish he were here to give me a word, if you believe me to be it's bearer then I will accept fate. I can give no reason as to why I am truly here except that I was drawn, things are according to the will of the Gods even in this age."

The bull smiled and placed the box before her. "im glad, your father would be just as proud you accepted this without hesitation, being one of the destined barers is an enormous responsibiliy and honorable by every account" He thought for a moment and looked at her "i hope you realize your next task is to find not only the other barers but the four other pendents as well, all but you are vulnerable to the kings wrath without it around their necks"

The elder bull smirked as he grabbed a map from a basket and layed it on the table. It showed the world in its entirety "were here and the best place for you to go is...." His finger crossed the land and pass the sea to the next continent and pointed to a large city "here, the city of Atlantia, its one of the worlds largest citys, ive only been once so im sure its larger even now, they have so many advances in science and technology its almost like magic, their is an old scholar whos searched for the pendents he may be able to help you"

Draugr had been waiting in the crowd for quite some time, wondering if anything would happen. Not more than 15 or 20 minutes later later, the chronic short-attention span of the town was quite visible. The thick crowd the dragon had been wading through earlier was down to a few pockets of bickering, speculating people. A group of kids were playing marbles with some polished rocks in the street leading up the elder's house - a quick glance around placed them with a tiger/wolf couple near the door to the butcher's. He doubted he would be getting any more information today. Although... Spotting a nearby fly, he caught it in his hands, and whispered a few words. The fly took off, zipping into the elder's hut, and landing on the ceiling, drinking in every word that was said. While most of the information that the fly would remember would be useless or incomprehensible to the Manipulator, Draugr knew that in the morning, he would at least be able to figure out some of what went on. Home was not more than a 5 minute walk away, and he took this time to forget all the day's worries, and all the confusion regarding the new arrivals to town. If nothing had happened by now, it was unlikely they were any threat to him or his simple way of life. He pulled a thick, cast iron key out of his coat pocket, and unlocked the front door to his home. He jiggled the stuck door a bit - he'd accidentally cut it to wrong size. Draugr never bothered using his power to fix it - a bit of extra work in people's life often did them more good than naught. On the plus side, it also served as a decent burglar alarm, since the noise would almost certainly awake him, should his would-be foes happen to smash the lock. Mittens, his pet black cat, named so for her white-tipped feet, vaulted off the small table near the door and onto his back, careful to keep her claws in so as not to harm her master. She began purring almost immediately once she was draped over his neck. "I see you missed me." It didn't take the cat long to catch the scent of the mouse he'd brought home. She jumped to the ground, and turned to face him. A quizzical look was all it took for Draugr to know the question, and he laughed aloud. "Yes, yes. I brought you a present." Mittens hopped down to the floor upon hearing these words. Reaching into the leather pouch, he pulled out the mouse, and dropped it to the floor. The cat immediately chased it off to a corner of the small, 2-room house, and made herself a nice dinner. Draugr wasn't particularly hungry. He pulled a book out of an unusually sizable collection, for one of the poor class, and tried to read out of it. The bigger words left him puzzled, but he was getting better day by day, and he could at least understand the gist of things now. This particular book was about a lady with very long hair trapped in a tall tower, and a prince trying to reach her. He couldn't understand the title, but it was a good story nonetheless. After an hour or so of reading, he laid on a small mat in the corner of the second room, and attempted to get to sleep. He drifted off fairly quickly, which was unusual. One time he awoke to the feeling of his cat curling up next to him - must have been about 2am, which was her normal bedtime. He closed his eyes, and waited till morning, where new tales were sure to begin.

She accepted the pendant, fixing it around her neck. Then she went and stood with him looking over the map he had brought out, she had never seen a map of the entire world before and was fascinated.

"Atlantia...hum I wonder how I will be able to find the others, the pendants may be easier to find than they may be. In either case I believe this journey would be best left to myself, a 6000 man army would be too difficult to manage especially with so many in the world willing to start wars it would only slow me. Where is the nearest port from here? I will find a place to bed down for tonight, in the early morning though I will make my way."

The bull looked at the sheer fasination on her muzzle and smirked "first time seeing the world eh? heh its alot larger seeing it then on a map ill tell you child" As he listened to her inquiry he chuckled a bit "just as you were drawn to your pendent the others shall be drawn to theirs as well, do not worry, now that the profecy is starting to rise, all the destined barers will feel the call of their pendent, it is how you and they were designed"

He pointed to the map, across the waters from Atlantia was what looked like a small industrialized city. "here leaf port, is the closet place here to get to Atlantia, though you will have someone to come with you i should say, im sure now that at least one of the destined has heard the call of its pendent, he must surely feel it now, especially since you are wearing your pendent now" The cheif bull looked at her and could see she was a bit confused as he sipped his tea. "you see even though i am a battle hardened old man i was born with the gift of a conjuror...."

The elder bull held out his paw as a wheel that was divided by a green half and a red half with a arrow on it appeared. "this is one of my three conjurable objects. i decided on this when i was your age to have it, its power allows me to ask any yes/no or a question between two options and it will spin to reveal the true or best answer to me. However, such a powerful item to conjure required i add a heavy condition to its use. That is the downfall of a conjurors power, the stronger the pwoer the more strict or the more number of conditions to it. For this one the harder or more difficult the question i ask the longer it will take for the spinning to stop. Your father and i had waited days to some questions we had asked to ensure the greatest results for our battles together, but perhaps i should explain...."

He took and breath and looked into her eyes, seeing the same stare and power behind her eyes as her father did and he smiled warmly. "when i came back with the pendent to my villege, i came back with a sixth sence from my time in battle. He was a but a cub at the time, but when i looked at him i felt as if destinys string was wrapped tightly around him, more then even your father.I summoned the wheel and asked if this boys future was interwoven with a great fate. The wheel itself took three days to finish. At that time i was looking once more at the pendent feeling nostalgic of my time with your father and thought to ask this wheel if he was a child of destiny....i waited two months for that wheel to stop and it pointed to yes......"

Argenti tossed down his hoe and fell back, opening his shirt to let some of his body heat out as he sat on the plush grass surrounding his garden. He wiped the sweat out of his fur, using the back of his sleeve to soak up some of the mousture out of his fur. He pulled off his eye-band, letting the cool breeze play across his dead eyes. He grinned at the morbidity of the thought, that such a horrid sounding thing felt so very good and relaxing. He sighed, leaning over to pick up his hoe before he stood up. He turned and walked back towards his home, a hut of sorts that he made out of stones and wood, using mud from a near-by stream for mortor. He was sure that it was very ugly, but it was warm when you covered the door and window, cool when you opened them. The walls were smooth, the roof thatch that he'd gethered from nearby, and the door a blanket that he could fasten to the doorway during bad weather. He'd made a crude shutter for the window, not really so bad for being made of wood carved by a knofe and an ax. He tossed his hoe into the box he kept most of his tools in, and imeadeatly filled his open hand with a few bags of seeds, some food that he ws gonna plant today. He grabbed the tools he needed, then sighed and started back out to his feild.

She sat quietly, taking it all in. She had seen maps before, but nothing like this one and it made her feel small.

"I came across my power by accident during battle, but later I figured out how to use it and how it worked and used it on my fathers armor, grieves, helm, shield and sword. ...Leaf Port you say...that would be the easiest way. I hate to leave my army, but I do not feel that I should risk 6000 men that have fought so many battles along side me by bringing them into some thing they have to fate or place in. They are settling down west of here, to build a town."

She listened to the rest of his story attentively.

"Are you saying another with a pendant like this one is near?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Draugr woke up in the morning in a rather unfortunate manner. A piece of roof had fallen through and a beam of light was shining right in his face. The dragon was an early riser, but rising with the sun was pushing even his limits.

Sighing, and wishing he had more time in the day to fix everything that went wrong, he reached a hand up towards the roof, and focused intently as the branches, dried leaves, and pitch sealed up the hole.

After giving his cat some attention, he left the house, being sure to lock up securely, and headed for his blacksmith's shop.

As he opened the door to the shop, he immediately noticed something was amiss. He grabbed a nearby sword, brandishing it, ready to strike. Had something gone wrong with...nope. He lowered the weapon.

"Get out of here, you damn kid, I already told you...can't afford to take on an apprentice."

A small, rather runty-looking vulpine boy of no more than 14 years of age shot out of the corner and out the door behind him.

"Always some damn hole needs fixing around here..." he muttered, referring to the boy's original entry point.
Ignoring it for now, he begun his days work by heating the furnaces.

After speaking with the old bull a while longer, Taemestra decided to retire for the night in a guest hut not far from the bulls. It had been a long few weeks, this day had seemed even longer for an odd reason. She slept well enough, the hut beat sleeping in the open air for once. She now and then gazed at the pendant she now wore around her neck, she fell asleep thinking about its origins. Awakening in the morning she slowly donned her armor and tunic and every thing else except her helm which she stashed in a bag on her horse, getting a drink of water from a well next to the hut and cleansed her face in the cold liquid. She decided to head off to the black smith this morning, she did not feel like waiting around or sight seeing not that there was much to see here.

He "looks" over at his clothes and shakes his head, walking out of his hut nude. He walkd down to the stream and jumped into it, pushing his top half above the water and shivering, shaking off some of the cold melt-water. He washed himself for as long as he could stand, then went up on the bank and laid on the grass, sunning himself. I need to go into town, my spade broke..., he thought to himself. He sighed and sat up, shaking the last of the damp from his fur. He walked back into his hut and pulled on his clothes, grabbing his spade as he walked out the door.

Taemestra after a few minutes and a few turns found the black smiths shop, she dismounted her horse and tied it to the post just outside. The heat of the day was fairly hot, but as she approached the entry way to the shop it felt hotter. Obviously he had the bellows going, she knocked and waited. His open air forge must be in the back.

Draugr
May 6th, 2009, 05:08 PM
"The door's unlocked!" he yelled, without turning from his work. He was hammering out a few swords - hopefully some of the small military force in town might be interested.

"If ya need a horse shoed I can open the front doors."

He turned the sword-in-progress over and beat on it from the other side. It was nearly at a white heat - he'd had to get it quite hot in order to safely join the metal together - there were not too many pieces left long enough to forge a sword. Sparks of molten metal flew up, and singing a few of his scales. No matter - the scars would be barely noticeable in a few hours. His natural 'armor' was remarkably resilient.

He set the blade in the flame to heat it back up, and pumped the bellows a few times, and wiped his brow. He turned around to greet...that female warrior from the other day!

"Oh! H-how do you do, ma'am! What can I do for you? A drink, first, perhaps? I've got nothing more here than some cool water, in the back room over there - don't worry, I heat it to boiling first to make sure it's clean."gl

(OOC: Sorry for the late response, haven't seen this update in my UserCP for some reason.)

"Trinkets later, thirst now."

Draugr walked opened a door into a room that was thickly padded with straw. Inside were a few large blocks of ice that he had cut out of the nearby lake. A few smaller chunks of ice, much more clear than the lake ice, sat above a curious contraption. He pulled a lever beneath the shelf the clear ice was sitting on, and some mechanical piece inside the shelf could be heard moving. He shut the door, and headed back into the shop proper. He kept up a running commentary as he went about this peculiar routine.

"I don't know what you mean by 'part of what you are.' I had my warring days, and they didn't serve me too well, in case you didn't notice," he said, gesturing to his distinctive facial scar. I'm fairly happy just running my late father's blacksmith business. I suppose the old fires still run hot in my somewhere, but I think it would take quite a bit to awaken them now."

Grabbing a glass, he set it under a spicket near the side room. He opened a valve on a pipe near the ceiling, and banged it a few times. It led straight to his furnace. He pumped the bellows a few time, and the heat of the furnace flooded the area above his frozen drinking water, melting it ever so slightly. The glass filled up with cold water, and he hurried to fill another, then offered the first to his visitor.

He took a long gulp and set all the valves and levers back to their original positions.

"Ahh..." he sighed contentedly.

"Now, let's see about this necklace."

As he drew closer to it, he could feel some sort of magic imbued in it. His rand rose quickly to his own scrappy-looking pendant, and he put it within his grime-stained shirt.

"There's some powerful stuff brewing in that piece you're wearing. Moreso than I've encountered in many years..." Draugr looked nostalgic for a moment, although not in a particularly happy way.

"I don't particularly know how to say this, so I'll just say it's best safe I don't mess with it too much. I haven't got a clue what it's for, but I'm sure it will come in handy, wherever you might be taking it.

He fired the furnace back up and set everything into motion as a way of losing himself in the moment, to try and regain focus.

"So...Argenti," he said, after regaining his composure. "Taemestra here says I gotta run off on some damn fool adventure our Elder's got in his head. This ain't some concocted crazy plan of yours to mess with my head, is it?"

He slid a glass of water down the table toward the wolf - there was still a bit left in the reservoir from earlier. He offered another glass to Taemestra, neglecting to take any himself - he was quite used to going long periods of time with no fluid.

"Well, if you know what I've been digging out'a my garden, why the hell haven't you made me a decent tool, eh?" Argenti mumbled to himself a bit, then sniffed and faced back at the lady. "Man expects me to know what's in my garden, with no pupils in my eyes..." He shrugged and turned back to Draugr. He laughed as he heard the Dragon's usually lesurely heartbeat speed up, knowing he'd caused it. "Now now, blacksmith, you've no reason to blush at me, I'm not the one you're pretending not to bed." He laughed to himself as the smith heated up the furnace again. He plucked the handle of the spade he'd had from his bag and set it near to Draugr's wirkplace, but far enough to have it not catch fire. "Maybe you should be a woodworker, your damned handle has outlive four blades now." He walked back over to his seat, listening to Draugr mutter to himself. His ears perked at his name. "Oh, finally giving me your mistress' name, are you? Anyhow, I've nothing to do with this scheme of our Elder's, he hasn't listened to me for the past twenty..." He caught himself, and fumbled out, "I mean, two years. Some misunderstanding, about his son's brains being rotted by my teachings..." He sat uncomfortably for a while, then grabbed the water he'd just been sent. He took a drink, then smiled again. "Can't trust me, eh? A good enough policy, considering you don't seem to be interested in my life enough to ask questions." He laughed suddenly, then looked over at the lady. "This one doesn't even know my age, not interested enough to ask I guess." A thought occured to him and he frowned. "I hope I haven't upset you with my teasing Draugr about you, I meant you no ill."

Draugr
May 26th, 2009, 10:27 AM
"All I hear are excuses...dunno what you're using it for but you're the only one breakin' 'em...hiding bodies or something, probably."

"And don't give me that bull about your eyesight, seeing as you could probably beat me in a duel."

He ignored the next few comments, trying to hide his reaction to them - he furtively shoved a few memories out of his head, ones that involved his type of 'nightlife' and a few close calls with Death because of it.

He took a quick look at the remnants of the spade - Draugr didn't really like using his powers when it came to his craft, especially in front of others...but Argenti was blind, and Taemestra was distracted by the him...he'd be fine.

Pretending to be working the pieces of metal, he gently laid his hands over them. The pieces jiggled a little, then fused together. He gave it a few pounds of a hammer, and placed it into the furnace for good show, and after a few minutes doused it in a bucket of dirty water.

"Here ya' go," he said, handing the tool to Argenti, after letting it cool. "And it ain't for busting rocks, 'neither, though I suppose that won't stop you from breaking another."

As an aside to the Taemestra, he added, in a low voice "You wouldn't believe the trouble he's gotten me in to...not that I didn't help things along of course, or that I wasn't all too eager..."

Speaking back up, he continued: "An' last time I went around asking people about stuff that wasn't none of my business, it got me all wrapped up in a bunch of nonsense, and all I got out of it was this scar!" he said, pointing to his face. "But what the hell, I'm off to get myself killed in some quest I suppose, so I can't get myself in any more trouble. How old are you, now?"

"I don't hide them they're on display. You should know that, boy." Argenti sipped at his cup. "As to the duel, name the time place and weapon, we'll see if you're right." The Wolf chuckled at the Dragon's reaction to his teasing. Argenti took the spade back, shaking his head at the smith. "Maybe that's why your stuff is always breaking on me, taking your cheap little shortcuts. I'm not a smith, but I know the sounds or metal being worked, boy." Argenti nodded emphaticly at Taemestra. "He's right, blind people cause lots of problems. Bumping into... things," he elbowed Draugr at this, "knoking things over, stepping on people's toes, you can just never know." He twideled his thumbs, trying to look inocent. He resumed his serious face when he said, "And that scar's your own fault, you just need to find out how to ask certain questions." He took another drink of his water, then looked at the puddle in the bottom of the glass. "I don't think you're of to be killed, Draugr." He dained the last of the water. "My age is..." He laughed and set the cup down. "Well, older than I look."

Taemestra sat and listened to them bicker a while, she felt the urge to slap the blind old man silly. She put it off to the side though, but felt right to comment a little.

"I am no ones bed partner old man, and I doubt you would know one worthy even if she came up and bit you on the tail. And as for your skills, they must have gone out the window along with your rational mind as well."

She sat back relaxed in the chair, her sword on her side shield and helm next to her. She knew of feisty old men and their antics, and their selective hearing and thoughts.

"You are old enough to know the name Achilles and his Myrmidons, great warrior of the Trojan War. A little discretion should be paid to his names sake and blood line, should you have any respect for your own life."

Draugr was a bit uneasy in the tense silence that followed. He waited a few moments before speaking up.

"Well...I'm, uh, gonna shut things down I guess. Gotta pack up to head off to whatever godforsaken corner of the world is beckoning."

Shutting down the forge once again, he tidied up a bit. Before locking up, he threw a few pieces of what looked like scrap chain mail into his pack - maybe once part of a larger suit?

"I'm heading home, gonna take care of a few last-minute things quick...when do y'all want to start out?"

The door to the shopped opened as the large bull entered and looked aroud "i was wondering why you hadnt left, it seems you have taken time to get to know your travling companions before you leave" He looked to the old wolf and smirked "i see you came to fix your hoe again i assume, yo uknow it is only for clay earth, you know better then that"

Argenti flapped his hand iritably at Taemestra. "Oh, cool your horses woman, the seed of Achilles should be able to control her anger better. And my skills, of any kinda, young lady, are none of your concern whatsoever." He grinned at her. "However, I am sorry that no-one's brave enough to bed with you, must be lonely at night." He leaned back, relaxing all his muscles for the attack that he thought would come, then twitched when the bull came in. "It's not my fault that I can't see the difference in rocks and clay," he said, slightly pouty.

"By the Gods old man, I knew you didn't have any eyesight, but tact?"

Draugr had had quite enough of war in his short time on earth, and wasn't ready for a small-scale one to erupt right in his shop.

The bull smirked and looked at the old wolf "one, after being told to many times you should know you have rocks in your garden, two, dont take me for a fool you could tell anyways, your not a febal blind man as you appear, in fact id consider you extremly skilled and deadly, maybe as much as our young visitor here"

She just blew him off, she did not make a habit of making was with elderly people. She just made a circling gesture with her hand, meaning to continue or hurry up impatiently. She finished her water and stood, taking up her shield and helm. She did not know what lay ahead of them, but she was sure this would be one of the last times they may be able to relax as such and she did not want to squander it by fighting, there would be plenty of that in due time.

Argenti sighed, rubbing his forehead with his left paw. "Fine, I'll use my head instead of my spade to dig my plants, you all seem to think it's hard enough for the work. And two..." Argenti grinned at the old bull. "Two, is that an invitation to adventure? You want a skilled at who knows what, blind old codger like me? Or is my hearing going the same direction as my eyes?"

"As long as the harbinger of the apocalypse promises to take care of my cat while I'm gone, I'm good at any time," he said, referring to the bull.

Truthfully, Draugr was a bit excited. Adventure was in his blood, and even if he wouldn't admit it to the others, he couldn't lie to himself.

You'd best have your daughter go tend my garden too if that's the case, I'll need something to liv off of if I can't pay for food."

* * * * * *

All the way across the world in a large grand palace sat a large grey wolf in fine robes and cloths wiht a large crown on his head. Before him as he sits on the thrown is a large oval pool floated in the air watching the conversation they were saying without any of them knowing they were being watched by the very person they were destined to battle. "heh so three of the five are gathered but only one amulet thus far is found, hehehehe what ever will they do to find them the others hmmm, finally after 200 years of waiting their coming, i knew after crafting them it would take a while for them to be found and look for one another but jeese, i didnt think it would be this long ah well....now should i watch...or intervine and test them?...hm...."

She accepted the bag of gold from the bull, and she thanked him gracefully. Then she handed him a sealed scroll, the seal was set but fresh.

"If you will, have a messenger deliver this to my Myrmidons from the direction I came. My path did not weave so due direction will do, the recipients name is Flavion head commander of the rather large force of my Myrmidons and new settlement to the west of here. And i believe I will take my horse, walking aside while she holds things for us or if anyone would like a rest."

Draugr
June 23rd, 2009, 07:05 PM
Draugr locked up the shop - maybe permanently, he thought grimly - as they congregated outside.

"I'll be back in a few minutes. I need to head home and grab something real fast."

The dragon rushed home, and went to a corner of his house. He dug up the dirt with his claws, and gently brought forth an item wrapped in many layers of cloth.

It was his old sword, something he had made very good use of only five years ago, and something he had wanted to keep buried for good. But, fate has a funny way of twisting your personal edicts around on you.

There were a few more scraps of chainmail in between the cloth layers. They were very tiny chain links - they seemed to be far too fine for any armorsmith to possibly make - and as light as a feather. They were obviously made from some foreign material from a distant, far-off land. He laid these aside as he unwrapped the cloth, revealing a rather plain sword.

Interestingly enough, it seemed completely undamaged from its 5-year burial in the damp earth - even as protected as it had been. The blade shone brightly as though it had just come from a volcanic forge, except for a small strip that cut diagonally across the blade, near the end. This area was noticeably duller, and almost seemed to absorb the light, rather than give off light, as the rest of the blade did. He quickly sheathed it and attached it to his belt.

The pieces of armor he laid by the ones he brought from his shop. Laying his hands on them, and closing his eyes, he focused intently. The room shook for a while, then all was still. When he brought his hands up, the chainmail was whole once more. There were a couple pieces that attached to his tunic, just above the elbow, another couple that attached just above his knees.

He quickly fitted these pieces, then ran back to the others.

"Ready when y'all are."

The old wolf closed his eyes beneath the and folded his hands around his staff, laying his head on it. He went completly stiff and stayed that way for about a minute, then relaxed and stood straight up. "All my stuff'll be fine now, I'm good to go." He sagged suddenly, but stood up quickly, coughing.

The bull nodded and took it "consider it done" He left them to their own devices and believed they would be ok and believed in their destiny.

* * * * * * * * *

Back in the thrown room he waved his head and smirked as his observation of them dissapeared. "bah, they are ready to travel, perhaps i should assist them and make this more interesting hm...." The wolf snapped his fingers and in the shadows behind his thrown a figure that blended into the very shadows appeared, his face hidden "yes sire?" "i want you to send a small platoon to the city of atlantia" The wolfheld his paw up like he was holding something and three wanted posters appeared in his paw "these are the three culprits" "....their crime sire?..." "doesnt matter, if i say their wanted then thats that, now go" "of coarse" the figure dissapeared back into the shadows and the wolf only smirked laughing "come heros of destiny, bring me the entertainment i desire"

She nodded her head to the Bull, she gathered up her helm and shield and made her way outside of the shop.

"Now, we are all ready to travel to the port city. Let us go, I have the feeling that this..."God" we are eventually going to be after is always watching and will take to no surprise."

She loaded her shield and helm onto her horses leather saddle, untying the reigns she stood ready to make the march.
