Ambush In The Desert

It's another horrid day in this hell hole...

You wake up in darkness, you are filled with nothing but numbness as you have had all emotion bled from you in this horrid war

You are currently stationed in a rain-shadow dessert with an impossibly high mountain range standing between you and the heart of enemy territory and the beautiful plains that would be your salvation with your supply lines nearly choked off at the moment.

Surveilence reports tell you the enemy seems to have some sort of tunnel system going through the mountains that they're using to move from post to post without being exposed to your fire, as a result, you and your fellow soldiers are all but doomed and damned in a confrontation on their front.

The salty dessert air hangs heavy as it always does and you're company is running out of water fast without a supply drop scheduled for almost a week

You are scheduled to run reconasince to try and find any weak points in the enemies defense

The leader of the operation is a worn and rugged red fox standing about 5' 9" with a white belly and white streaks on his head, it's rumored, one for each time he nearly lost his life, he has snake bite piercings and has taken numerous shots and is a master of stealth and has used it to get him in and out of scrapes barely keeping his life each time...though he wouldn't have it any other way...

Air as he was called was the sniper of the grope. He was quick to joke but also quick to shoot. Air is a large gray wolf about 6 feet tall And using an SR25 sniper rifle that had a suppressor on it. This is his first assignment with this team. He was laying on a small rock outcropping watching some traffic an a small dirt road off in the distance.

A coyote comes up and tells you you're needed back at base

[airwolf]

"Rodger that just keep an eye on the road till relieved."

Air gets his gear together and starts off for the base arriving there a bit later and heading in to the command area.

"Excuse me i was told to report back here a while ago. Some one here call in Delta 261?"

Air stood there looking around.

[Furry_Fox]

"Yeah, we got an operation and i sent ky out to get ya, wazz your name?" I say seated and wholly unconcerned with the situation

[airwolf]

"PFC Air Sir. Most just call me Air. You say you have an operation of me Sir?"

Air takes a seat placing his equipment on the floor and taking out a small note pad and pin from his vest pocket.

"So What do you have for me Sir?"

[Furry_Fox]

We have ourselves a surveilance mission, we are to note and find any enemy weak spots and supply routes so that we may be better off in an ambush, and word is, you've got quite the eye

[airwolf]

"Yes sir i do have a good eye sir two of them just in case as well. So all i need now are the ROEs ,destination ,and engagement range sir."

Air began taking down some notes.

"So who is going to work secondary on this op mission sir. Or will i be alone?"

[Neko]

[I'm here now!!]

Name's Neko. Black fur, yellow eyes, 134lbs, 5"4'. Best with a machine gun. Several scars, none too serious. Scar across my left eye [3 to be exact] and several ear piercings.

"What's my mission, sir?"

How nice of you to be punctual...

You will act as reserve, this is not a confrontational mission, though were it to change, we would need someone to back us up and lay down some fire, to continue *lays down a tactical map of the area, desiganting our path with my finger* we will head down from the plateau south and head west into this dried up riverbed and head north then east to a spot where we can be well concealed from the enemy and get a good look of the goings ons of there camps...

*i look up* Understood?

[airwolf]

"Yes Sir. I will gather up my gear and supplies befor heading out. Whats the time frame that were looking at?"

Air stand up and salutes befor starting to jut down his route in.

[Furry_Fox]

*hangs my head down* as long as we can make our rations last...we need to do as much surveilance as we can

[airwolf]

"yes Sir understood. All i need now is our operational frequencies as well as the emergency one and ill get moving Sir."

Air continued writing things down on his notepad.

[Furry_Fox]

I tell you those things and dismiss you both to prepare for the mission

[Neko]

"Understood, sir. I have some extra food I didn't eat yesterday, will I need to bring that?" *scratches back of head*

[Furry_Fox]

It'd probably help...I say as I return loading my KAC Stoner SR-25, where's that Sniper?

[Razie]

A tall figure step up beside the fox saluting as he does so. "Ssir Sspecialist Rayne reporting on orderss," Raaze says lowing his salute and standing at easy. Not very ofter a scout and demolitions expert get called up so he was curious as to what was going on. Staning ust a inch or so oaver the fox he looked to be the same weight. Black fur pokes out of his uniform as burnt yellow scales can be seen running down his neck and onto his chest and belly. He kept his long scaly tail down the top fur brushing in the wind.

(sorry but before I list any weapons he may have I was wondering what era of war we are in. Modern, veitnom, or french foriegn legion like)

Air stopped at the armory and grabbed some extra rounds before heading out and moving to the first check point to radio in.

"This is Delta 261 checking in at way point Alpha. Continuing on over."

[Razie]

After getting his mission information Raaze left to the armory packing up his supplies. Getting some grenades and more ammo for his Steyr aug sa a3 he load up on few explosives. Checking his Sig saucer p226 T he grabs a couple of clips for it as well. Picking up a slencer for both guns he readies himself before heading out to the recon point. "Delta this is charlie 128. Heading to recon point 5," he says over the comm,"rondevu at point." Checking his weapons one last time he makes his way to the recon point.

I load my handguns and kiss my dogtags, and radio in

"This is task leader you will stop at check point A and wait for further instruction. Clear?"

[Razie]

Hearing his orders Raaze changes direction and heads to point A. "Roger Task Leader heading to point," he says into his comm.

[airwolf]

"Rodger that holding at Alpha."

Air sat up a defensive position.

[Furry_Fox]

I make my way over to Alpha Point with Neko close behind carrying a CIS .50 CIS

"Well...let's go..."

[airwolf]

"Yes sir so far no contact"

Air got up and followed.

[Razie]

"Coming up to point A now," Raaze says over the comm spotting a figure already there. "Air is that you?" he asks before stopping himself on the comm.

[airwolf]

"Ya rodger that you stick out like a sore thumb on that cliff tho get over here."

Air motioned Raaze over.

[Razie]

"Yeah right sniper wolf," Raaze half laughed over the comm,"only to your eyes." quickly make way over.

[Furry_Fox]

Turns my head just enough to see back and shout "Stop draggin yer asses and let's move, the faster we get there the more recon we can do and the faster we can get this over and done with"

I speed up my pace to little under a jog

[airwolf]

"Yes sir right behind you."

Air picked up his gear and filed in.

[Razie]

Taking up the rear Raaze secures the route back while watching for anything unusual. "Roger," he respond to the command picking up his pace.

[Furry_Fox]

We get to a ridge with some nearly dead and dried out foliage and i gesture for you all to stop and call Air up to follow me as i drop prone and crawl up through some of the foliage

"Let's get a good look at there operations and plot out any weak points"

I look back "The rest of you watch out for any potential threats but hold fire until they fire on you or you are 100% certain they are aware of you"

[airwolf]

Air crawls up and begins looking over the area with his scope.

"ok i see may be 15 out side the cave. Looks like a pretty good perimeter defines. See those small mounds. Im betting those are mines. you may be able to infiltrate the back side of the hill and repeal down it the dark if your quiet. What do you think?"

[Furry_Fox]

"Nah, there's no obvious way of gettin over those mines without gettin caught, we gotta try and see if there's a part of the minefield that's thinner..."

In the distance you hear the *Whoop-Whoop* of a helicopter moving in

My ears perk up as I curse under my breath "Everyone in the brush NOW"

[airwolf]

Air rolled over and hid

"Stay still."

[Furry_Fox]

The others hide and the helicopter lands near the mountains

I peak from the bushes and see dozens of crates being carted out of the copter

"What the hell is in those crates" My mouth waters thinking about what kinds of food they might get to enjoy compared to the tiny bland morsels we get

[airwolf]

"I have no idea Sir."

Air scoped in on them.

"Looks like two are marked general supplies one rations and the other three are ammo and fuel Sir"

[Furry_Fox]

"Damn...that would be pretty useful around now..."

I contemplate the idea of raiding the supply drop, but realize that it would be certain death to do so

[airwolf]

"Ya i would agree but all we need to do is wait till dark Sir. Then we can slip in and get what we need if we have to. I think the best approach will be the path the guards take out to that tower."

Air points to a small guard tower out side the fence.

[Furry_Fox]

I consier the plan then nod "Agreed"

Let's head back and dress in stealth gear and return about an hour after sundown

[airwolf]

"Right ill hold here and watch there patrols you get the others ready."

[Furry_Fox]

"Good call"

We head back and change into lightweight stealth gear and return later that evening with some of our last food and give you some food

"What do you got?"

[airwolf]

"Dont worry about me Sir ill be fine you guys just get going."

Air positioned himself to watch over the camp.

[Furry_Fox]

"I asked 'What do you know?'"

[airwolf]

"Ah as for that. there running three patrols every other hour. I have counted four guards by the gate. But they have bees there for a while and wont be relieved for another two hours. the patrols dont go in there spots and the guard tower is unoccupied. Looks like they have there guard down to me."

Air points out the patrol routes.

[Furry_Fox]

"So is it safe to go?"

My ears twitch and I look around but assume it to be a dry dessert breeze

[airwolf]

"ya right now if you approach from the back of the hill no one would notice you. Ill hold here and pick off any one that gets to close."

[Furry_Fox]

My ears perk up and I turn and peak through the foliage and pull out my supressed Assault Rifle just in time to gun down a tiger that'd been sneaking in on us for the past few minutes

"OPEN FIRE!!!"

[airwolf]

"Dam"

I role over pulling out my .45 and fire off a few rounds.

"how the hell did they get so close."

[Furry_Fox]

"Don't know don't care"

I pull out my radio "Backup! I need backup! AS. SOON. AS. FUCKING. POSSIBLE!!!

[airwolf]

"I think we need to move left in to that trench line"

Air knocks down another one and reloads.

"OK we will go on your signal"

[lozaddiction]

suddenly several sharp cracks fil the air as equal numbers of hostiles fall lifeless

"did some call for back up?"

[airwolf]

"Ya that would have been us. What the hell kept you?"

Air rolled over and retrieved his rifle.

[lozaddiction]

*laughs* sorry guys got stuck in traffic but now is not the time for talking it is time for asskicking!!! *shoots and 4 hostiles the drops clip from rifle and reloads swiftly*

[Furry_Fox]

"To the riverbed!"

I begin to move to move down the hill and get the shot rolling down the hill

[lozaddiction]

o shit!!! *runs down to where furry is grabs him and pulls out a black scythe and somehow starts flying to cover*

[airwolf]

"Rodger that come on dude!"

Air picked up his gun and followed. dropping in to the riverbed setting up and returning fire killing a few befor reloading.

[Furry_Fox]

Drops prone on my back once I get to the ground and fires my Assault Rifle at the approaching Bloodhounds

[lozaddiction]

runs up calls air to cover me while i help furry up and out of here

"come on guys we are out numbered! i have a attack heli waiting but it is a uav so it will only help once ill call it in ok? now lets get the hell out of here!!!!"

[airwolf]

"Sir i agree we need to move. We only packed light and im low."

[Furry_Fox]

I reload my KAC Stoner SR-25 Assault Rifle and continue to lay down fire

"Then get out of here, I can handle myself"

[lozaddiction]

sir with all due respect we are not leaving you here! even if i have to carry you on my goddamn back you are coming with us!

[airwolf]

"once again i agree with the new guy. No way in hell Sir."

Air reloaded and dropped another two.

[lozaddiction]

sir either you come with us or i willcarry you myself we need to move NOW! *shots another 4 and puts in his last clip* its now or never this is my last clip

[Furry_Fox]

"Then GO" I drop two with a quick burst for each of them

I look at you all steely eyed "That's an ORDER"

[airwolf]

"Dam it yes Sir moving back cover."

Air bounds back to a trench about 18 feet back

"UP! move back"

[lozaddiction]

RODGER THAT

*pulls out small radio*

"Firebird this is hunter do you copy?"

"rodger that hunter this is firebird command is that you ridley?"

"yessir it is! now i need you to send that firebird i asked for down here ASAP we are under heavy enemy fire and low on ammo we need cover and evac time and space now!"

"understood Firebird enroute"

"copy that firebase"

all right we have roughly 2 minutes before the bird gets here so lets take as many of these bastards out before the bird takes em' all!!! *fires several well placed shot each one gaining a kill*

[airwolf]

Air continued firring from further back using the range to his advantage.

[lozaddiction]

there's our bird!! *points to a steadily growing speck the flashes once and a smal dot is seen racing from it heading towards a large group of hostiles*

[Furry_Fox]

A sneaky little Falcon puts a knife to my throat and grabs my assault rifle and uses me as a shield leaving no bit of himself exposed

"Drop your weopons and come quietly or else"

A sting of blood comes down my neck as the knife digs in ever so slightly

[lozaddiction]

*curses under his breath* fine but i cant do anything about that bird or its misle behind you

[airwolf]

Air quietly takes aim from behind the Falcon And waves to indicate he has a shot.

[lozaddiction]

ok i give up where do you want me? *pretends to lay gun down to distract falcon and give air a better shot

[Furry_Fox]

Before any of you can do anything I get agitated and say shortly

"Well this quite annoying" And pull out my pistols and shoot him in the right thigh with one, elbowing him in the head and turning and shooting dead between the eyes

I snort at the whole thing "Told you lil pinpricks I can handle myself"

[lozaddiction]

*bursts out laughing at this for it is too much for ridley to handle* sir they told me you were crazy but i didnt believe them but now i am a firsthand witness to your insanity and insane skill *laughs again*

[airwolf]

"dam well what am i here for"

[lozaddiction]

watching our backs i guess *shrugs and laughs yet again*

[airwolf]

"Ya so far that seems to be going great now get down you two"

[lozaddiction]

*drops on to his stomach* good idea now lets get the hell out of here before they figure out how to destroy the bird or worse: it runs out of ammo

[Furry_Fox]

"Already there Air" I pick up KAC Assault Rifle and return fire

[airwolf]

"Right you bound back ill cover. Ready GO!"

Air began laying down covering fire.

[lozaddiction]

*fires 6 more shots, 6 hostiles fall, bolt of rifle clacks open* thats it im out! *unslings shotgun and pumps rounds into chamber* lets get the hell outta here already guys!

[lozaddiction]

*jumps back, drops to one knee, fires twice, and motions for air to back up*

[Furry_Fox]

I toss Air a special shell "You'll only need to use that one shot, Air, just wait for the signal"

I turn to Ridley "Help me funnel 'em down the middle"

[airwolf]

"Yes Sir"

Air falls back and takes up position loading the round.

[lozaddiction]

got it!! *rolls oppisite side of air and starts firing to move hostiles into a funnel*

[Furry_Fox]

Sure enough the hostiles move down the middle avoiding our fire but heading right for our trap

"NOW!"

[airwolf]

Air fires out a jet of flame that windes up the middle of the path.


"Holey shit what the hell did you give me?"

[lozaddiction]

dude no way! how the fuck did u get a flamer shot!?!?!? those are prototypes!! i know because i helped design part of them! holy shit!

[Furry_Fox]

Dragon Shell, turns a simple shotgun into a short range flamethrower, your welcome, you'll need to get that shotgun fixed though...

goddamn it! you do know i had my shotgun altered to wistand those right? i could have used that without fucking up the gun! now he'll need to get a whole new one we never figured out how to fix the melted barrles!

[airwolf]

"No problum there. I prefer my .45 any how."

Air dropped the shotgun and slug his rifle.

"So ware to?"

well back to camp i guess *shrugs*

"Back to camp, and that was one I designed before I legally owned this KAC Assault Rifle, and your gun wouldn't have withstood it, I made it too strong"

oh so its not the prototype one? do u have any others i could look at if you dont mind? and im not sure about my gun not withstanding that here look *scratches off a bit of paint from the barrel and a sparkle greets them* see this barrel is actually solid diamond, thats yy i never let anyone else use it and plus they wouldnt be able to anyway i coded it based on a cross of DNA and fingerprint scanning took me 4 years to finally get it all perfectly right

"Right well i think we got most of them if i counted right. Whats left shuld only be there support staff."

[Furry_Fox]

I bite my lip considering it

"Fine, let's press on"

Rubs my forehead in frustration "The enemies base, and get that helicopter over there to lay down some fire"

"Right you guys go in ill set up in a ridge line and cover."

[lozaddiction]

good idea but i think it would b a better one to get some ammo first, not to be rude though sir

[Furry_Fox]

"Fine! Go back and get ammo and a new barrel, Air, but make it quick!"

[lozaddiction]

Sir! Where do you want me? should i go with air or stay here with you?

[airwolf]

"Right this wont take long just stay here."

[Furry_Fox]

"Let's just hold up until Air gets back"

[lozaddiction]

*nods*

[lozaddiction]

*pulls out small radio again* hey air could you do me a favor? when you get to camp there should be either a bag or a box labelled "Ridely's weps" can you grap it forr me?

[airwolf]

"Ya sure im leaving most of my equipment here."

Air started off.

[lozaddiction]

[Furry_Fox]

I look at my watch, seeing the time tick by

[lozaddiction]

sir might i ask where we are going next and i request permission to scout that area out while we wait for air to return

[Furry_Fox]

"We'll go as a squad"

[lozaddiction]

*nods sollemly* yessir

[Furry_Fox]

"Don't pout either"

[lozaddiction]

*laughs* sir not to be rude but i just was hoping to try out my new stealth suit thats all sir

[Furry_Fox]

"Well you're lucky then, you'll get to show me and Air what it can do...in person..."

[lozaddiction]

[airwolf]

Air returned a short time later with the ammo and gear.

"ok ready to roll."

Air loaded up.

[Furry_Fox]

"Good, let's move" I head off to the enemy base

[lozaddiction]

*grabs bag and pulls out several rifles, dozens of clips of ammo, stealth suits and other assorted gear, sets them on the ground and begins searching through it for a semi/full automatic sniper/assult rifle combe (barrels can beswitched quickly to change it compleatly modable :)) and hands air and furry a stealth suit* hear put these on they are the new stealths ok? i help design them and asked specifialy to field test them these are the only ones avalible that we have so please be carful the techs back at R&D wil have my head if anything bad (beyondd bullet holes at least) happens to these babys ok? *pulls one on over his combat gear*

[airwolf]

"got it dont worry. Ill snipe from here you guys go in."

Air took up an over watch position.

[Furry_Fox]

"I can't guarantee shit, but they won't fuck with me for any reason or sum of money you can offer..."

I slip on my stealth suit and test the range of motion and practice drawing aiming and firing to get used to combat in the suit

so how's it feel? *glances hopefuly in furry's direction* i know there are a few bugs in the warp system but they're working on it

[airwolf]

"A little tight when you lay down but other than that not to bad."

[lozaddiction]

*breaths sigh of relief* whew good i know i told those damn techies to work on that!!!! *mutters obcenities under breath*

[Furry_Fox]

I shout from several dozen yards ahead "ARE YOU COMING OR WHAT!?!?"

[lozaddiction]

yessir! *runs up next to furry*

[Furry_Fox]

"Pick up the pace Air!"

[airwolf]

"im holding here and covering with sniper support."

[Furry_Fox]

Rolls my eyes "Fine but when we've taken out the gurards you're coming in with us, got it?"

[airwolf]

"Yes sir no problum there."

Air set up a sniper position overlooking the target.

"ok set."

[lozaddiction]

sir! request permission to take point!!

[Furry_Fox]

"Just fire when they come out"

I pull out two smoke grenades and toss them into the guard towers filling them with smoke and the smoke fills the entryway

*slings rifle and pulls out shotgun and begins firing into the guards as they exit the tower coughing loudly*

[airwolf]

*drops the first bunch out of the cave*

[Furry_Fox]

I pick off several with a few burst from my Assault Rifle

[Furry_Fox]

"C'mon! Let's move!" I head through the smoke pulling out a pistol and a handgun

[lozaddiction]

*follows closely behind furry and draws his twin modified automatic desert eagles (yeah i know it sound insane but just go with it ok?)*

[airwolf]

"Ok you two clear the inside ill make sure no one sneaks in behind you from mt position out here."

[lozaddiction]
